I guess too much is being said negatively about the movie. I think it is a perfect example of how couples should NOT be behaving.
Half of the people are complaining about why the characters behaved the way they did. It is good. It means the message is clear, never be like Dev and Maya. They are perfectly bad example. It has been shown very well by Karan.
Lesson from Sharukh: Do not be a sour loser. Do not crib so much in life. Life is beautiful Lesson from Preity: If one spouse is down, he/she deserves understanding. Do not be ignore. Try to listen and not hear. Lesson from Rani: Do not take good things in life for granted.And happiness cannot be found outside of house

So I guess although the message was clear, the direction should have been tighter and the characters should have been given a better background to make people appreciate why they behaved in such a way.
the movie present the frality of relation.though quarrels n disputations are sure to occure in any relation but is it better to run from the relation and always feeling that we lacks something...somewhere?? it is the only instinct which makes us to search for better.....this LOVE word dressed in ugly clothes has been presented ...hay man dont u think it will increase the divorse rate in india.. see how we have completely adopted the western culture unknowingly.. in india we learn the love after marriage and that thing is presented as a frail noption are also there to sort out the things
Amir Khan divorces his wife despite having kids.. Saif divorces Amrita despite having 2 grown up kids... Rhea Pillai staying away from Sanjay Dutt and giving birth to Leander Paes' child. Whats all this...! Do you still want to say that KANK is illogical? I watched it yesterday...after reading all those dirty and negative reviews. Sounds somebody is jealous of KJ, SRK, Rani...!!! It is a different, nice movie with sufficient entertainment. Not boring at all... although a little long by 15min. But I enjoyed the movie. It is a thought provoking movie. KANK - the movie is not being hated but what is shown in KANK is being hated... SRK has not been hated but SRK's character Dev Saran has been hated AND this is the WIN of KANK.this story and charatcters are meant to be hated. No doubt that it is a winner all the way and has broken all records in US and UK. Good Job Karan Johar, SRK, Rani, Amitabh, Abhishek, Preity. Worth watching.... I give it 4 stars. 2 for bold and mature story and 2 for acting.
Story is most important spice of any masala movie but Karan has not added in right proportion. The best star cast, best music directors, best choreographer, best technicians and the best director cant make the best movie if the story is not even good. This is the only problem with KANK a mega Ansu Bahao family drama.
Karan is a trend setting director who had given two blockbusters and became the role model for many but directors but this time he imitated himself.
As the promos of the movie were shown the movie is about broken marriage life of two couples (Abhishek & Rani and Shah Rukh & Preity ) (Shah Rukh has a broken leg also) and the Karans situations makes the life to swap the wife (Rani singing with Shah Rukh and Abhishek dancing with Preity) but the reality is far away from imagination. First half of the movie is good and you try to imagine what is going to happen next but in second half you cant imagine because you start praying that any how movie should end.
Karan had tried to take care of overseas audiences as his K3G was good overseas grosser. The story starts and ends in U.S. which is a trend now days to attract Indians in abroad. Shah Rukh plays foo
