Partiality Allegation Unwarranted
by Rahual Varma on Aug 25, 2006 10:22 PM

A review presents the opinion and thoughts of the reviewer. Based on the experience, eye-for-detail and technical skill, impartial nature, and common sense of the reviewer the review will reflect things that ordinary people like us are not able to see or understand. Otherwise all of us would have been reviewers.

Being said that a review need not be perfect and not all people are supposed to agree with it. SO as a reader you have every right to criticize the review and what you feel about it and the points on which you disagree with the reviewer and why. That is your right just as the reviewer has his right to state his opinions and observations.

But it is neither ethical nor proper to criticize the reviewer. The analogy of the judges and judgment is applicable here. Just as it is considered improper to criticize the judges (one can criticize the judgment), it is wrong to personally attack the reviewer.

I have been reading the reviews written by Paresh for quite some time and I have read most of what he has written. I find you allegation hard to believe and was surprised to read it. May be you have not read all the reviews that Paresh has writte

Good Review
by Kumar on Aug 14, 2006 04:27 PM  | Hide replies

This is really an excellent review.
Keerthichakra is just an average movie.Don't expect anything extraordinary. It's just normal movie with all masalas. It can be well named a Masala Patriotic Tamil Movie(remember RB Choudhary is the Producer).
If it's enjoying a good initial pull Lal's star value is the only reason.See the Tamil version is already bombed at the B.O.
One wonders if the director had really been part of
Indian Army. I really don't understand the role of
Sphatikam George, Shammi Thilakan, Kochin Haneefa, Biju menon, Swetha Menon etc. The only good thing about the movie is the encounter in the climax.

@kumar
i think you are talking about Aran, you may be one of those who watched the film inTamil Nadu. Its really different fromMalayalm version, Keerthichakra. In malayalam no masalas are added, really a serious patriotic movie. About tamil version, mohanlal itself disowns the tamil movie. So if you are a tamilaian go and write this review to Aran. I am person who watched both Malayalam version is really worth. No phaltoo comedy scenes and masalas there. So please keep some sense. You've written the comment in a wrong forum. You can write this message for Aran review. It may be a masala tamil movie. But its a serious patriotic malayalam movie. Watch both and feel the difference.

Gentleman,

What ever I've said is about the Malayalam version.
I really feel that you are a hardcore Lal fan( Don't worry he nor the rest had nothing to perform as the characterization was poor.)
Would u have called it an excellent movie if Lal was not the leading actor . I really doubt.
I would reiterate, the only highlight of the movie
is the Hindi( or Kashmiri whatever) song and the
encounter in the climax. Some scenes are captured realistically as well.
Can u justify the role of Sphatikam George( I feel it was created only for the hero to make some bombastic dialogues.) and the Guy who listens to a Radio and later gets killed in an encounter( Can you deny if I say it was copied from a Hollywood war film- don't remember the name, Vinayan's War and Love has a similar character), Kochin Haneefa, Shammi Thilakan,Two Comedians from Tamil, Swetha Menon( I don't understand the logic why the director wanted involve human rights commission in a Terrorists killing ... :-) )and Biju Menon etc. etc... Can U tell the Villain and Shammi Thilakan has done justice to their roles??
Moreover there is no flow and no completion of the scenes .

very bad review written by rediff

Keerthichakra is going to be a Huge Hit in theatres how can anyone write some stupid views.(Like Mohanlal looks bulky)He is bulky.that everyone knows but he's so flexible and did evey sort of action on the screen, dared to do all stunts that others couldn't even think...remember "Naran"..and mind u he's not playing RAMBO in this film.
The megastar provides yet another glimpse into his awesome reservoir of talent with a masterly display.
This film has served its purpose. At the beginning they say that this film is to make us think and remember about those selfless military men who served us.
And i feel that major ravi and team succeed in doing that with out even using a word like "bharath matha ki jai" in the film.
Felt proud for Indian army.
Film may have minor defects as its Major ravi's debut film.
Its a maayalam film don't compare it with Bollywood or Hollywood movies.
This film has a new look as tis shot in Kashmir and Afgan..they have used real weapons and real military vehichles.
And jeeva plays a cameo role.
Gonna be another feather in Major Mahadevan's cap(sorry Mohanlal's)...MIssion continues....

poor review

Dear all..

Mohanlal's Keerthi Chakra has made a bumper opening and is already declared a winner at the box-office. All the theatres where the movie was screened have been witnessing full houses.
Hey...we all admire mohanlal for his acting capabilities not for looks...it seems that the reviewer would be happy if major ravi had casted Hrithik Roshan for this role.
Anyone with good looks can act in films...but only a great actor can become a great success even with out looks...Major Mahadevan is perfect in this film...Mohanlal's body language and acting is perfect .I belive most of the malayalees will agree with me on this matter..

Keerthichakra

Hi,

I saw the moview last night. Was expecting a half baked army fight terror kind of a movie, more so after reading the review. Was actually surprised by the sheer pace of the movie and the realities which stuck me like arrows. This movie is something which keeps you on the edge of the seat almost for the 2 hours. Mohanlal and Jiva clicks together very well. They really look like buddies. The movie rocks. You can't expect anything better from the bollywood junkies anyway. It is really good and i strongly recommend every body who enjoys watching movie on big screen to be part of the action.....
