After best contestants like Amey Date voted out show has lost its charm.
by Sameer on Apr 11, 2006 10:48 AM

Yes I think after Amey Date one of Indian Idol contestants voted out the show has become really boring now a days.Every thing looks like melodramatic and it has lost its real charm.I think reason behind it is the best singer like Amey Date voted out.It would have been interesting if final would have been between Amey and Karunya.I am sure people would have enjoyed the tough compitition between Amey and Karunya.

Yes it is fading out...
by Mayur on Apr 05, 2006 09:20 PM

Show like india idol which sky rocketed being most popular on television, crashed hard on its second season. One reason could be that, people that are competing are failing to show their talent. they were few who really made the difference and few were unrecognized even working hard. Show also saw some dissapontment in public judgement on voting for right talent. Now days people vote for their own region and looks....no one gives a crap about who really is giften and trully talented. for example, public voted out Amey over Anuj....now if indian public thinks that Anuj was more talented than Amey than i do not see the bright future of Indian Music. On last season, india idol had very talented people including Abhijeet Sawant, Amit Sana, Rahul Vaidya, and Rahul Saxena. But these season there were only two, Karuniya and Amey Date. but it seems that Amey is gone leaving us with dumb ass like Anuj and Sandeep. so i do see that this show is going to hell. even if sandeep wins....the india idol title loses.

Indian Idol
by sarbajit dasgupta on Apr 05, 2006 07:16 PM

I like the concept of reality show as it is prevalent in almost all the western countries but I do not like people copying every bit of it, even the logo of Indian Idol is very very similar to American Idol. Also people who are selecting the talent of the country has to be really responsible. Unfortunately this does not happen most of the time and that is why people like Amey Date who is really talented is voted out. It is a shame to see people voting on the basis of region and not on the talent. This is a very dangerous trend and that really took the whole steam out of "Fame Gurukul". The bottom line is anybody can win the contest but only talented individual will survive in the long run.

Public doesnt like the same thing again .
The Show like Indian IDOL was interesting in its first phase but now public is not interested in that & thinking like it is a money making thing.

Realitly shows
by T Surendra Singh on Apr 05, 2006 08:42 AM

It is nice that TV shows are giving chance to the common man to show their abiltiy and creativity. If we say that reality shows are seasonal that will not be be fare because they can be held in any season. It is the want of some thing which can bring any show. In the reality show, common poeple are getting beifitted but the dominated or the poeple are condacting them, are not getting any benifit. In my viiew it is the only reason that the reality shows became seasonal or they are not starting again. Every man has some extra abilitly than usual but it needs a chance to show them. Today is the Money world, if you have money you can start any thing whether one has that ability or not. On the other hand, there are people who have ability and creativity but they are not able to show lack of opportunities and money. It is not only in the TV or Cinema but also in other field too. Out country has reached on the peak of Corruption. A common man cannot desire to do any thing extra than usual things. I hope there will be some poeple who will think beyond this money making thing and give chance to common man.

Thanks and Regards.

Talent search among the challenged
by Binal Shah on Apr 05, 2006 07:49 AM

Hi,
I guess they should search for talent among those who are challenged /impaired and are facing life each day with a different kind of courage and strength which most of us cannot even dream of having. There are people who inspite of being visually challenged or deaf or dumb or both but are exceptionally talented in fields of music, design, crafts etc...I guess the true talent search to show the world would be to hunt for these. .. Most of them are even orphans and are unaware of such talent competitions which could change their lives. If possible, convey this message to the producers/directors/ TV channels.. If they truely care for talent, then the amount they earn through sponsors, should also be given to them.

one can not generalise it. because singing talent is numerous in india so gurukul and indian idols will continue. comedy is difficult art, can come up very intermittantly...

REALITY SHOWS
by Rakesh Patel on Apr 05, 2006 01:48 AM

Unlike first season, the shows in its second innings, still attracts a lot of audience. But the same audience is being attracted only from the semi final or last 4 stages. People dont have patience or interest to watch a year long competition rounds and same old fashioned public voting and some mediocre performances by the bulk of the participants. So I still feel that the Reality Shows will continue, but with a maximum of 12 weeks / 24 episodes schedule and with some more excitment created by something new.

Still it will continue
by Sujoy on Apr 04, 2006 09:53 PM

First of all thanks for selecting such a good topic for discussion. Let me brief my opinion what I think about these reality shows:

1. Business and Sponsors: With millions of people participating in real life rise and fall competition the MNCs will go all-out to sponsor such programs, and in turn it will be business of billions.

2. Mobile company rocks: With every SMS charging 3 times more than a voice call and the whole nation fighting to get their chance to vote what more AirTel, Hutch or Reliance can expect to rock?

3. Real life drama: Were not we happy when Anu Malik or Ismail Darbar promised to back the weeping exiting competitor to be his playback singer? We were even happier when these judges and the competitors started fighting like wild cats on stage-live.

4. Dont ever expect the right judgment: It seemed unnatural to the judges when a competitor from Bombay was voted out and the other one from Himachal Pradesh was in in-spite of their utter dismay. Why were they so unhappy after knowing from the very beginning that they had little control over the judgment made by general public and specially when most of them are voting for the candidate from their city/state/region. Moreover you dont expect a mandate if you have 1 billion judge to make it.

But still the reality TV will continue because:
1. We love to watch even trash: As long as there is Keu Ki Sans.. going for decades with huge popularity it proves that Indian audience loves trash. Reality TV shows are at least better than that.

2. Money.

3. Money.

4. Money
