reality shows do fizzle out, you can say that again. last year i had voted for prajakta shukre as indian idol though she did not make it and had watched practically all the episodes, this year i simply change the channel if i come across indian idol 2. nobody in my family has watched even a single episode, which was the exact opposite last year.

thanx.

Reality Shows

Reality shows are more hype than substance. By the time the second season rolls around, they lose steam. Take for instance, Indian Idol II. The contestents this time round were pathetic and the entire presentation seems like a watered down version of the first season. Ditto the Laughter Challenge. The viewers are overdosing on them and are in dire need of some fresh sustenance.

It's not reality shows that fizzle out but repeatativeness of it fizzles out and also lack of talent.

Voting system is taking away all fun of the shows. The deserving leave abruptly, that is why they are no more intersting,But Laughter challenge two has better performances than the music shows

Reality shows' reality check
by Suja Skariah on Apr 04, 2006 05:13 PM

For any show to generate or sustain interest, it has to be made well. In the case of Fame Gurukul, initially the show failed to draw audience, and the makers had to resort to a lot of cheap gimmicks so much so that the show started resembling a daily saas-bahu soap rather than a talent search. Till now, the talents thrown up by these shows have been rather mediocre, save a few exceptions like Laughter Challenge. Most of the music talent shows have only promoted mediocrity and continue to do so. The parent shows like American Idol still generate a lot of viewership even in India, and yours truly is a big fan, even though I do not have the option to vote. If the show is packaged well, and manage to attract good talent, it can sustain its popularity. I must admit that I religiously watch American idol, but have watched only one episode of the current season of Indian Idol. Looks like the producers of the Indian level take inspiration from the daily soaps in their quest to 'indianise' the shows.

Reality Show Bites

Its been too much of these Reality Shows. Its great to see many talents getting an exposure in such talent hunt shows. But leaving the fate of such talents to common public doesnot make sense at all. I totally the concept of the show from the point of view of talent search. But all these talented people at the end of their performance beg for people's votes is really a pity site. Its really pathetic to see great talents pleading to the public 'please please please vote for me'. Its sheer nonsense. Looks, regionality and dont know how many such factors take the front seat in deciding the winners. My ultimate opinion is the show must continue, but the reality word must go.

Sir

In my view some of the reality shows have fizzled out. Like Laughter Challenge- this show was superb in its first part one but in IInd part it has failed to move the viewers. Although 'Indian Idol' has made impact in its 2nd version also. But 'Sa re ga ma pa ' new episodes and similar other programmes alike are seems to be short of viewers interest.

What exactly reality shows are, Exam, Competetion or Just a show
by Subodh Deshpande on Apr 04, 2006 04:11 PM

If its exam, then some one will be topper.

If its competetion, then not necessary that everybody will win

if its a show then remember you are selling your selves like goods, goods have value less or more

goods never knows they have been sold by someone to otherone, goods even do not know they are being used

goods even do not know whether they are usable or not

the buyer and sellers decides the future depending upon their pocket and need..

goods do not complain..

so decide what you want to become...

indians have a way to spoil the market in the name of competition. when a new business opens up be it the kirana shop or a std booth or a relaity show, you will have clones with the identical falvour with a tweak here and there. KBC had its share of competitors, indian idol did, and so many other soaps still do and will do on different channels. everyone wants to retain 'eyeballs'. the result is spoiling the market. thats soething very very peculiar happening in the name of competition. somebody outght to analyse it.
