Paheli is a good choice, but looking at the list of other movies in the fray makes one cringe.
Probably Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi was better choice. And Swades too is a very good movie. But pray, what are masala movies like Veer-Zaara, Anniyan and Kadal doing in this list? These movies are just intended to collect money @ box office, there's not even a hint art in them.
Also the mal movies is "Achuvinte Amma", not "Achuvante Anna" which has totally different meaning in malayalam. :-D
Its really unbelievable that infront of a movie like Black Paheli got nominated for the oscars from India.Black was an ideal movie for oscars and it would have stood a better chance than paheli because of the strong script and acting performances.
this is terrible. after nominating a movie like shwaas last year, india's entry has once again fallen prey to colours and meaningless nonsense. i really hoped 'Black' would have been nominated, it would have surely been noticed. im pained to c that once again v hav let go of a golden opportunity
how can black be sidelined and Paheli be given the entry? It is not filmfare to just give the award by looking at sharukh's name. The ppl who see these Indian movies at the oscars every year would be laughing at the quality of these idiotic hindi movies.
It is indeed a pity that an industry, which boasts of movies like Iqbal, Page 3, Black still had to nominate Paheli as its choice for the Oscar's.
I am not taking any credit out of Paheli, be it it's star cast or its cinematography, but I am sure the concept of the above mentioned three movies are better options to be presented to the Oscar's. Or is it, just b'cos that Paheli was the only release of Shah Rukh Khan this year!!!!!!!!!!
Once again,We have chosen a mediocre film like paheli,instead of a better film like Black. It won't be surprising if we don't win the Oscars this time too!!
I believe film selection committee is full of jokers.Pls come out of film fare..zee cine awards mentality. BLACK should be nominated for Oscar.I doubt whether film selection committee know what does Oscar mean?? India will never get Oscar if you select movie like this.
Paheli!!!India's Entry to the OSCARS!!!..it can happen only in a country like India,where half of the people don't understand what they watch and some slef proclaimed 'Junta' decide what is right for them to watch....
