I was just out of my 12th grade and gone to bombay with my cousins , uncle and aunt. we were forbidden to go out anywhere alone by ourselves and i knew if i wanted to see shah i had to break that rule. so with the help of my brother who agreed to cover for me i took the bus to bandra from chembur. shah was living in an apartment called amrit towers at that time. when i reached there i was told that he wasnt in town by the watchman at the gate. dejected i was planning to leave but there was still some hope left in my heart to see the star i loved the most. so i started smooth talking with the gateman and even bribed him to tell me the truth. i got to know that he was still in bombay and soon about to leave for his film shooting. i also remember being told that his sister had been ill and taken to hospital for a fall or some reason. i bided my time and soon he was down. he was wearing a denim shirt and looking much thinner than in his movies. i walked upto him and he shook hands with me and signed an autograph for me. i was also carrying a voice recorded and he spoke in\\\\\\\" have a good life jasdeep\\\\\\\". then he sat in his pajero and drove off. i was left saying YEH DIL MAANGE MORE

My name is Simran and I am almost 8 years old and a BIG BIG fan. I have seen quite a few of your new movies over and over. I saw you in Oakland California on Sept 24, 2005 (Sangeet Awards). I had waited for about 4 hours outside just to see you. Finally, when you came out at 8:30 PM, I was a little tired and hungry. I was too shy to shake hands. I was standing next to a lady that kissed your hand right in front of the entrance where you came out from.
I am writing this letter with the help of my dad...I am hoping that you will write back to me...It will make me very HAPPY and will be a nice birthday gift for me as well....I will continue to watch all your new movies.
I would love to meet Sharukh once in my life. I have been his fame since Fauji(serial). He has been my favorite actor then and he still continues to be..........
I lived in Gautam Nagar, a locality in South Delhi where Shahrukh Khan lived for many years with his mom and sister in a rented house. We never really knew the real story about his family and they didn't make any efforts to mix with anyone. They did look to like a rich family going through a rough patch.
For the first couple of years, they didn't even have a car and moved around in autorickshaws. Shahrukh never spoke to anyone of his age in our group or participate in any kind of games. My most vivid memory of him is a scrawny forlorn figure standing outside our colony's park, smoking away and watching us play a game of football and enjoy ourselves.
Sometimes I think things haven't changed for him much. Although he's become a big successful name in Bollywood, somehow he's managed to keep himself away from it all, lost in his own lonely world.
