Bakwaas review for a bakwaas movie!
by Shreya on Jun 03, 2005 12:21 AM

Movies like Naina and Kya kool hai hum which have been shunned by rediff reporters have shown their wonderful performance at the box office. But the movie which they scaled to great heights-B n B is no great shakes at the b.o.
This shows the beautiful taste of rediff reporters.
They need to take a coaching class from the aam junta who can write a better review instead of misleading and cheating the public.
Yeh public hai bhai, sub jaanti hai!tighten up your socks before you lose your readers.

Bunty aur Bubli aur Big B
by Angshuman on Jun 02, 2005 09:31 PM

It was fun watching the movie. One has to keep aside all logical thinking and just enjoy the movie as fun. Abhishek is definitely coming up great. Rani is no doubt the current best in Bollywood - she proves so once again. And the best thing about big B is that he gets bigger and better with each film he acts in, and this was no exception. I could watch the movie 10 times just for the end song featuring Mr. Bachchan senior. This man never stops amazing people....

Absolute Hopeless Movie
by shekhar on Jun 02, 2005 11:03 AM

Dear Rediff Editor,

I thought your editorial reviews were unbiased, but i am sorry to say that it doesn't hold true for this movie. How can u declare this film a hit ? I don't know why is the media giving 3.5/5 rating for such a movie. There is no logic or sequence in the movie. The item number with Aishwarya Rai is hopeless and there are too many songs in the Movie. I've seen Catch me if you can & it is the best movie of its type & it is a true story also. There is nuthin like that in this movie. Your editorial reviews are a total gross mismatch of what the actually movie depicts. It is a waste of 200 bucks.

It seems you are tasteless!! do you the meaning of what comedy is??

B and B is a hapless boring movie all the way from beginning to end and i was reading messages on mobile for half the time of the movie.....the songs are too long and in all the movie makes you want to commit suicide.....

Comedy is not B and B..Comedy is hera pheri,Dil chachta hai........

Rise and Fall of the Yashraj empire !!!
by Karim Joshi on Jun 01, 2005 09:37 PM

Ofcourse, it is one of the richest film production houses in India. The fall hasnt and will not happen financially. But the fall in Moral and Quality values has happened. Gone are the days of a 'Silsila' or a 'Lamhe'. Now its half-cooked biryani in the form of loose scripts, out-of-place songs and lots of garam masala in the form of biased reviews, item numbers and the pre-release Hype. One wonders why the director had to use 'special effects' (such poor ones at that!) for simple train scenes.
Yashji, your fans are hoping for another 'silsila' from you and not this brainless stitching of situations in the name of a movie.
On the positive side, Big B is still the Biggest B in movies. The out-of-place songs are quite hummable, Aishwarya is out-of-place so she is perfect for the song which doesnt belong there either !!
Small B is still small, atleast when it comes to comedy. He needs to train with Govinda for a while. Rani is very good.
Yashji, Please put your millions on a good script writer !!

Utter Disappointment.
by Nitin S. Joshi on Jun 01, 2005 01:45 PM

I have always respected Chopras for their sicere efforts. They produced movies with substance and they always had the social responsiblities in their mind. But with this movie, they have gone down to the level of David Dhawans and Kuku Kohalis. This movie is full of silly jokes and unrealistic scenes.
It was never expected of chopras that they would glorify the conning and robbing in their movies. Though the movie is timepass it sends wrong signals to the youth.
It is silly adaptation of Catch me If you can. But in Catch me If you can , the serious repercussions of conning and cheating was shown. So it did not glorify such things. But in this movie when you see protagonists gets away with whatever crimes they have commited.
As far as performances are concerned all lead actors have done well. I must mention that Abhishek has improved a lot and fits in the roll.
I f you want your kids to become conman and reckless citizen then go and show this movie to them

Bunty aur Babli ; Go and watch it!
by Tirthankar on Jun 01, 2005 01:07 PM

Hi,

This movie is a good attempt at being differrent and original from others. Its refreshing! If the movie had some logical and descriptive of more cool conning stints, it would have been a gem of a movie. But its finale climax is good and unexpected. Also the timing and cool use of words just keeps on tickling the funny bone. The wierd sound depicting birth of a CON IDEA is also funny.

Dont ever make the mistake of having a some differrent picture in mind and watch with your self hype of movie. This is one reason why we dont like movies. Go with a open mind and let the movie do the magic.

Inspite of all pros and cons this is a decent movie.

All the very best! Feel the bunty and babli hidden inside you!

Catch you later for the movie 'D' Company!

Kya fool hai critics .. continues
by K Anand on Jun 01, 2005 11:30 AM

The bewqoofi of the critics continues or is it the fear of calling night as dark or is it the green cushion of currency? Go watch B&B... Huh... what's wrong with ur brains. This is third big and seemingly intentional coup this year by rediff after KISNA and BLACK.
Please stop giving fake reviews or get ready to face a trial in court. Section 415 of IPC clearly puts you in the spot and reads "Whoever, by deceiving any person, fraudulently, or dishonestly induces the person so deceived to do or omit to do anything which he would not do. Explanation to this section says that- A dishonest concealment of facts is a deception within the meaning of this Section. Further section 24 of IPC adds that -" Whoever does anything with the intention of causing wrongful gain to one person, or wrongful loss to another person is said to do that thing dishonestly."
Another legal action can be through Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. So, please watch out as water has crossed the bridge.
All the best
K Anand
