It\\\\\\\'s a great honour that Indian movies are getting due global recognition.

U r right.Unfortunately we Maharashtrians love Hindi more i guess! But slowly with movies like Shwaas and Anaahat situation is improving.I think Marathi movies will be as good as bengali or tamil and golden era of Marathi movies will return soon.Remember Dadasaheb Phalke made India's first movie-Ayodhyecha Raja?I am proud of it. Rediff plz dont ignore Marathi,South,Bengali and other regions.Movies arent made only in Hindi. Raajiv Mhasawade
why don't u give importance to regional cinemas ...time and again u refused to oblidge our suggestions ....in fact for ur information, southies just avoid this site for cinema news ...u are doing no good in neglecting the regional cinemas ...
maratis/gujaratis/bengalis might not make a big issue out of it and wud confine themselves to just bollywood .....but we are least interested to know only abt bollywood ...
did u publish any news abt rajni's chandramukhi, other than a formal news abt it release ? do u guys know that Cheeru's andarivadu is getting released this weekend and is the hottest news in AP ...also there are very interesting news from mallu/kannada movies too ..but u just seem not to care about these news ....
u know, south indian movies cover 60% of the industry revernues ....the number of theatres in TN and AP together is more than the entire North and East india barring Mumbai ....
come on ...grow up ...if u think u are catering the needs of the whole india, give equal representation to all regions ....

Hi Reader,
You know what, you are right! We Bengalis look at, appreciate and learn from all movies: regional and Hindi and then come up with OUR OWN OSCAR WINNING DIRECTOR!! Guess a little humility and eargerness to learn goes a long way, eh?
Tamil Cinema along with Malayalam and Bengali cinema has always produced quality cinema to its viewers. I sincerely feel that a number of Bharathiraaja's and Balachander's movies also need to be in the list, that have gone unnoticed. But luckily Mani Ratnam is the only trans lingaul director India has ever produced. His films reflect reality and has cut across language barriers. Its indeed a honour for the Tamil people across the world. Hope that many young film makers follow his foot steps and make more and more quality films.
Its high time that Bollywood makes good cinema. It had some real good film makers liek Bimal Roy, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Raj Kapoor. Film producers and directors have to remember that only the good and true talent can survive time.
