Monsoon Wedding and Dil Chahta are two of the best contemporary Indian films. Pather Panchali and Meghe Dakha Tara are good films too albeit from an earlier time. Their strength lies in their depth, sensivity and the poignancy of the story-lines.

Yeah! rediff approached to atleast one right guy. This list may not be top ten for India but atleast it is acceptable upto some extent. I am totally surprise, how this guy manage to see so many movies in so many languages. Sir, which language do you speak, where do you stay? the answer must be ...indian language , India. Indian boleto ....you, not restricting to any region unlike other so called greats who restricted themselves to their own regions,or languages they are working.
