I just want to make a comment. I notice that most ppl feel bad that only certain anguages are chosen. While this is true, myself being a tamilian, it is also important to note that it is a personal choice. One cannot ask the person why he chose to neglect other languages. It is probably coz he/she was not exposed to it/ or doesn not understand them in the cultural sense.
Choosing Top 10 Indian movies is an excercise in futility as there are way too many languages and way too many movies to choose from.
But hey, it does make for some timepass reading :)
Your list is really commendable. But the real problem is most of these films were not watched by the real audience. So it is impossible to comment on your list. But still you missed a lot of important film makers like Jabbar Patel,Raj Kapoor, Janhu Barua,Sanjay leela Bhansali to name a few.
Y didn't u select malayalam films,I think there are so many classic films in our language ,then y did u ignore those films, including ur films.Request you to do the needful.
I have noticed the following mistake with the name of the Oriya movie and the picture you have used for the movie in the list of Adoor Gopalakrishnan's best Indian movies:
Maya Mrigaya: Nirad Mahapatra has made only this one feature film (in Oriya) but it's a very outstanding work. Director: Nirad Mahapatra.
(1) The name of the Nirad Mahapatras Oriya movie is Maya Miriga (not Maya Mrigaya).
(2) The picture used for the movie is not of Nirad Mahapatras Maya Miriga; its mistakenly taken from Mrinal Sens Mrigaya which was based on an Oriya story.
I would appreciate if you can correct the above mistakes at the earliest.
The picture with Maya Mrigaya, one of the 10 best movies of Adoor, is incorrect. This picture is from Mrigaya, a Mrinal Sen's movie showing Mithun Chakrabarty and Mamata Shyankar.
