How come people forget movies like 'Sholay' & 'Deewar' when judging Best among best. Looks like, Religion level biasing is going very strong in India right now, including all media persons and Politicians like LK Advani.
The ratings are okay........ but all the ratings by the so called super star is not containing any other movies other than Hindi ones....!!!!!!!! is it that rediff forgotten that other language movies do exits in Indian cinema industry and have played big role in the evolution of indian cinema?? its sad to see all the ratings....

Shashank, Actually I wasn't sure why Mohanlal has to do that - including many of his own movies. But Theodore Bhaskaran did not include a majority of Tamil movies. The exact split is like this. Ezhai Padum Padu (Tamil) Pather Panchali (Bengali) Mughal-e-Azam (Hindi) Titash Ekti Nadir Naam (Bengali) Duvidha (Hindi) Mrigaya (Bengali) Elipathayam (Malayalam) Chidambaram (Tamil) Tabarana Kathe (Kannada) Prohor (Bengali??)
Among all the technicians he is the only guy who has given a decent split. But again I should not blame the others. The reason for rediff to go to them for opinion is, they had expected as experts in the industry, they might have at least seen a glimpse of other language films. We could not expect ordinary audience to have knowledge of other films. You are right about that. Not many Hindi flicks run in the south, and no chance for a non-hindi movie to run in the north. BUT, these are guys are more than normal audience. They are asked for an expert opinion. I was so suprised looking at their lists...

Savitha, thats because Bollywood audience in all states except the southern states had really little or no knowledge about the southern film industry. So, that why Bollywood filmakers cant include southern films in their list. Its not their fault actually... If you want to see the names of south indian films, check out the list given by Mohanlal and Theodore Bhaskaran. Even I can complain in the same way about their list. Mohanlal has included all his Malyalam hits. His list includes only 3 Hindi movies. Thoedore Bhaskaran has included all Tamil movies and only 2 hindi movies. The thing is that Bollywood audience/filmakers don't watch south indian movies, just like south indians dont like to watch Hindi movies.
actually i dont think Lagaan should come in top 100 movies. instead of that there could be Kaho Naa Pyar Hai.and there is no need of company because its not that good 2 come in top 100.these were my comments,

Kaho na pyar hai!!! hahaha... you gotta be kidding me. I think Company has to be there. If you see the quality of acting of all the actors (infact i think, althought his first, Company has so far been the best performance given by Vivek Oberoi). Lagaan maybe replaced because I think if Lagaan can be there, it is a huge injustice to Dil Chahta Hai... but Kaho naa pyar hai!!... hahaha... no way!!

Ms. Karishma, you are highly mistaken. Lagaan doesn't figure in Times 100 list. The list given is the personal opinion of various filmakers about the movies that they would have liked to figure in Times 100. Regarding Kaho Na Pyar Hai, I think except for Hritik Roshan and songs, the movie was utter crap. Lagaan has shocased the hindi flm industry worlwide and in Oscars too. Ideally it should have figured in Times 100 and not a film like KNPH.
Lagaan

I think Lagaan deserves to be in every list. Kaho na pyar hai was a hit movie but it doesn't have the callibre to qualify for the al time top 10 list. I think it is not even Hrithik Roshan's best performance till date. I haven't seen these movies in any list yet which I feel are far more superior than some of the listed movies, in terms of creativity and content.
1. Golmaal 2. Umraojaan 3. Amarprem 4. Anand 5. Andaz Apna Apna 6. Khamoshi 7. Dil Chahta Hai
