Hi..

When TIME mag published the best movies...there was also 1 movie...NAYAKAN..maniratinam's master piece... But now when it comes in rediff news... itz pathetic to consider only bollywood movies.. atleast u could have considered to change the name in to "BOLLYWOOD's BEST MOVIE's" instead of INDIA's BEST MOVIES..coz there r loot more master pieces in other lang like bengali, tamil, telugu and malayalam....

Indian cinema is not Hindi cinema..!!
by Asha on Jun 10, 2005 09:20 AM

Indian cinema is not Hindi cinema..!!...blah blah blah... I'd like to quote the word of Theodore Bhaskaran again.. he needs to be praised for these words and these should be shown to other list 'creators'!!...
The quote:
"Many Western film critics and film historians do not have an idea of the complexity of Indian cinema. There is no such thing as Indian cinema; you have Bengali cinema, you have Malayalam cinema, you have Tamil cinema, you have Hindi cinema just as you have French cinema, Spanish cinema, Italian cinema and English cinema. You can't talk about something called European cinema. Indian cinema is like that."

What a joke!
by Prabhu on Jun 10, 2005 08:44 AM

The guy\'s mentioned only Hindi movies!!! Yet another bias against South-Indian movies by one more attitude-ridden north-indian! But then, I actually feel sorry for the fellow who thinks a silly song-dance flick like DDLJ is one of India\'s best movies!!! That simply shows his ignorance and his lack of interest to watch regional movies. I personally think the list must contain \"Mouna Ragam\"(Tamil), \"Manichitrathaazh\"(Malayalam), \"Sankaraabharanam\" (Telugu), \"Autograph\" (Tamil), \"Anbe Sivam\"(Tamil - probably the best Indian movie ever), \"Nayagan\" (Tamil), Pather Panchali(Bengali) and a whole lot of other movies that are light years ahead of the juvenile DDLJ-Devdas kind of Bollywood nonsense!

When will these people learn to accept the fact that the best movies in India are NOT made in Bollywood, but in the non-Hindi speaking states!

i think other movies by yash chopra are better
than ddlj, which is just more of commercial success
otherwise it doesnt deserve to be in first 50.instead dewaar, silsala or even lamhe better than ddlj, qualitywise, not commercially
