greatest films subhash ghai is right in selection

of ten hindi films who does noyt have kniledge of regional movies like kannada, telugu, malayalam bengali, marathi.he is a kid. Also if he considers amithab is the big B he is wrong he is not bachan but BACHA only befor dilip kumar,Has subhash ghia seen any film of Pantalu or that of B S RANGA or Dasari narayan or Adur gopala krishnan, or BV KARANT and Karant.

Ghai himself has produced good movies like karma, vidatha doesnot entitle him to be aythentic on best film or better noes.

it is his view. When I say my view I will be exposing what ias the extent of my knowledge thats all not criteria.

Better your media stop encouiraging people like Ghai and redicule our country like taking films good films like Lagaan to hollywood and getting discarded.Tell producers to stop going for gradifying them self in rediculed manner in oscars .

Leyt us syop calling our self luike bolly wood /Sandle wood in line with HOLLY WOOD> uit is silly

I consider greatest of all movies is Jalasaghar and serials is ramayan

among indian directors hindi only you gibve credit to Shanta ram, rajkkapoor,Gurudatt.Basu chatterjee or Bhasu bhattacharya

Better to title it Hindi cinema's Top 10.
by Ajay on Jun 02, 2005 05:00 PM

It looks like Subhash Ghai doesn't understand the word 'INDIA's TOP 10'.He fills it with only Hindi films including his pathetic 'Taal'&passes it off as India's best.Has he not watched Tamil,Malayalam,Kannada,Telugu&Bengali movies. If he has not he has no business coming up with a list.Nonsense.

Ghai on India's Best Films
by Ravi on Jun 02, 2005 04:59 PM

Last 2 films Kuch... and Taal have no chance to be called the great movies on Indian cinema instead there are many other movies like Satya,Nayakan,Munna bhai MBBS ,Mughal e Azam etc.

Those 2 r just movies with stars and are not great movies .

is taal one of the best?
by rahul on Jun 02, 2005 04:58 PM

is taal one of the finest indian movies ever? frankly i doubt whether it can be termed as ghai's best anyways - i guess the guy was making the list himself so he had to shove one in , maybe when david dhawan writes the list raja babu will qualify as india's finest movie!

Ghai saab i respect your thoughts but be an indian and not a bollywood wala.
by Vinod on Jun 02, 2005 04:57 PM

I thought subhash ghai a matured director, but his list shows he knows nothing more than hindi cinema and bollywood.

there are great movies in india released in many languages like malayalam, tamil, bengali, kannada.

why on earth, bollywood neglects the rest of india and frankly there is not much respect for bollywood stars and directors in south of india because of their low range of thinking.

try to appreciate cinema as an art, which flourishes well through out in india in all state languages. but if you ask most of south indians they appreciate bollywood stars a lot, but still had a bitter feeling that they never respect the south indian stars as equal as their fellow mates.

this thing makes me doubt a bit, does india has become a hub for racialism too!!!!!!!

DDLJ missing!!!
by susant on Jun 02, 2005 04:57 PM

all the listed movies are very good but i find it surprising to find DDLJ missing the list which Ghai himself copied...oops..got inspired in Pardes.

Moreover Taal was good but not enough to make it to the top 10 list

Rupak Ghosh
Indian films???
by Rupak Ghosh on Jun 02, 2005 04:48 PM

I did not know that Indian films mean only Bollywood! Additionally, I had no idea that Hum Aapke Hain Kaun was released in 1975!

This is a good platform for 'showmen' to showcase their ignorance and braggadocio.
