Intelligent and interesting!
But Atul Kulkarni must have been given a meatier role.
Dialogues are brilliant and so are the scenes.

Cinematography is not up to the mark

The review is as good as the film reviewed!
The script is excellent and holds the interest of the audience throughout.
Characters are far too many. Yet each one gives us the 'seen somewhere' feeling.
Dialogues are very poignant and brings out the hypocrisy of the society.
The oneliner delivered by the lady author who coolly asks the saree shop assistant to show some nice white stuff on hearing about the death of Anjali Thapar, another celebrity in the cocktail circuit.

Whoever plays that honest cop-Bhosle has done a fantastic job.
So have Boman Irani and Konkana.

Good work Bhandarkar, keep it up!

Kanu
Good Story, Bad Execution
by Kanu on Jan 31, 2005 06:36 PM

A novel idea, good scenes have been made into an average film because of a disjointed screenplay, tacky production value, bad cinematobraphy and inconsistent direction. A director should know that an inexpressive extra covering 50% of the frame is spoiling your scene. He should know that managing a huge cast by making sure everyone gives their best is as important as just ensembling them. Only Konkana, Sandhya Mridul and Boman have given good performances. Rest all of them have done their bit to spoil the complete movie experience.

It is a great experiece wathching Madhur's movies
by Rajan on Jan 27, 2005 02:51 PM

Its seldom that these kind of movies come in Bollywood that are very original, real and entertaining. Director has really done a wonderful job. He has done a lot of R&D in all the subjects that he had taken up.

In my opinion these kinds of movies should represent India in International Film festival.

I am a great fan of Madhur going forward.....

More of such kinda movies shud be made..i think sandhya Mridul and Atul Kulkarni were brilliant in their small roles. The casting was superb.
Even though too many social messages had been crammed...but it does not get boring or documentary like.
Konkana Sen does it yet again.!!!!
Kudos to Madhur Bhandarkar
