Going by all the hate mail our poor sita menon has recieved it can be safely assumed that 'black'has stuck the right chord with all the people and is on its way to become a major hit of all times and an all time classic the world over. And never again will films and film seeing be like before. Its goodbye to silly shadi parties and karva chauths ( mind u i dont hve anything against such films but in future only those films with a different treatment will work)
Thanjs sanjay for ur passionate approach for film making and exposing us to something fresh and new,to amitabh, rani, ayesha, shernaz patel..for bringing alive a never sen before performance, to ravi k chandran for his world class, stunning, brilliant cinemotagraphy (his cinematographic excellence can be gauged by th simple fact that those people who previously did not care much about camera and such technical stuff where so moved by this visual beauty and are passionately talking about it!), to monty for his brilliant back ground score, to bela segal for the superb editing ( right from the first frame to the last this film just hooks u and never let u go off!), to omang kumar for his brilliant art direction( can u believe that the

remember if you cant appeciate a person effort you have no right to comment..criticism is one of the easisest jo?bs that guys can like can do....do you have some brains...look at the responses of the people ..almost everyone has appeciated the movie...so? wat u want to say? are all of them are idiots? or person like you and sita menon are the most intelligent people who have some sense of indian cinema...

you think that you are a better actor than amitabh or you think that amitabh should take a certificate of acting from the guys like you? do you know abcd of acting? or you better teach amitabh how to act...guys ike you should stop watching amitabh movies and better keep yur mouth shut instead of speaking anything against this living legend's acting talent or people of india will kick you out....go watch only hollywood movies ..you have no place in india...take care dude

Great Movie!
by vipul on Feb 15, 2005 01:02 PM  | Hide replies

Hey
I liked the movie a lot but not the article very much. I think the writer needs to give some respect to the hard work put in by sanjay leela bhansali to make this film rather than ridiculing about it. Most of the criticism by the writer is baseless and a shame. May be the writer fails to understand the movie and needs to watch it again!!!!! Nobody is perfect but i think sanjay leela bhansali is close to it. Thanks!

Black and White

It is extremely disappointing to read Sita Menon's critique of 'Black' which I think is worth a watch for the startling and coruscating performance of the entire crew. I would go to the length of questioning the critic's ability to write critique's and term her review to be one filled with turpitude. I think the critic needs to watch the movie all over again and I reckon that someone needs to explain to her in 'Black and White' as to what the difference is between a ordinary run of the mill bollywood movie and a classic. Rediff needs to screen such articles before publishing it on their sites. No offence Ms Menon you need to get your basics right. Readers, my take on this movie 'Don't blink you might miss the colors of this spectacular movie'.
Hats off SLB, AB, RM and everyone who was involved with the movie!! Its immaterial if you win or do not win the 'Oscar' for this movie.. You deserve more than an Oscar!

just a piece of advise for sita menon. if u watch a movie just for the sake of finding faults in it than dont bother watchin it! instead of acknowledgn slb:s effort u r pointin out the massive paintings in the room??? i guess they should just have four walls in the house n thats it coz they have a blind n deaf daughter. giv me a break!

what the heck!!

do you expect us to go to 4 year English program in oxford university first, then read and re-read the review till we get it, and THEN decide whether or not we should watch this movie?!!! I'm sure after the re-reading part, most of us will decide that the 4 year English program was an utter waste, because the review doesn't make sense anyway.

reviewers, do you even have a hole in your skull for a place for the brain to exist?

gawd! that review was an insult to this great movie. after a long time has a movie story been delt with utmost care. strangely you are much more benign about other "deaf dumb" movie "sheesha". isnt it high time you changed your film analyst?

Black: Bhansali's passion & pain

The reviewer seems to be in 'black'... It seems the person enjoys more of those 'main hoon na' or 'kabhi kushi kabhi gham' types...
If one cannot appritiate good/great acting & the effort, it is better to shut...

Have you fired Sita Menon yet?
by puneet on Feb 11, 2005 02:22 PM  | Hide replies

THREE MAGIC WORDS...

I can tell you folks at rediff this in rich, complex and hard to understand sentences, or I can write this in simple terms...

LET SITA GO.

I can tell the movie goers this in convoluted vocabulary or I can put this straight...

IGNORE THIS REVIEW.

I can ask cinema lovers in complicated syntax or I can advise them simply...

GO WATCH BLACK.

And I can tell Sita in the language she understands or I can be plain...

TRY SOMETHING ELSE.
