These are all romours that Mangal Pandey may not do well.It is a very good movie and i feel something worth watching so you all please do go ahead and do watch the Movie Mangal Pandey and wish Amir all the best
rediff and trade analysts seems really focussed on giving negative publiciy to mangal pandey right from the day the music of the film got released . what's the logic in declaring a film flop in it's first week. one mr komal nahta seems think HE is an astrologer to think that the film will flop eben with an extended weekend coming up. you guys need to take a break from work and de-stress yourselves , don't cheat the public like this !
Its not right to say that, this generation cant relate themselves with the events of 1857 or the history we all share.We people still like periodic films like Border,Lagaan,Gadar etc...
Its the fault in the movie, that it is not able to arise those feelings.No emotional scenes which touches ur heart...
It is really bad on rediff's part, from the very begining you rediff has had a negative attitude to wards Mangal and Aamir Khan. I think it was a great film, I will see it many times, I felt great watching it on Aug 15. I guess it takes another Indian to bring an Indian down, I think I should use rediff for Cricket only, I will never use your services again for sending gifts to India (I did it earlier this year).
Before you pronounce any verdict on MP get your facts clear . First of all the budget is 32 crores¬ 50.Also the number of prints in the same issue are much more than what you say that is 600 . Komal Nahata the trade expert you quote says so on page no 11 and page 14 of the August 13 issue of Film Information . So you article become dubious on more than one count and appears biased .
Since the opening is historic the chances of film recovering it\\\\\\\'s cost and getting some profit is high & therefore even if there is a drop the film will be a safe propostion for it\\\\\\\'s distributors.
So stop this propoganda.It will only spoil your reputation.
Dudes, How many of you have seen the movie before writing the comments. I saw movies with my friends. It is not as per expectations. I know that Amir Khan is great actor but this time he did not click. I don't point out drawbacks of the movie but over all it is not even comparable to Lagaan, Dil Chahta Hai. The songs are not in proper place. Sometime I don't think that the song was needed. I'll recommed to go for movie if it is free otherwise it is worth it.
