It's sad that jyothika was given the role of shobhana, she is no match either to Soundarya nor to Shobhana. While Rajni seems to be himself and this time hopeless. Vishnuvardhan has done better.please watch some other movie rather than wasting ur time on this. bye
the movie is a bad remake of a mallu movie and if anyone says jyothika needs an award..i would ask that person to see the original performance by shobana and then decide what actings all about...as for Rajni(he's himself in the movie,the script cannot change him to some psychiatric doc...Nothing new!!!)

its really funny weever ppll compare chandramukhi and the kannada movie,but dont understand or dont try to understand that its the remake of "one of the great classic movie Manichitrathayu"

The kannada version was story oriented, that is, revolved around the heroine late soundarya, but the tamil version is rajni oiriented, what a money making attitude Rajni and prabhu made this movie after watching the kannda movie, but they failed to understand the basic them the kannada version is still the best !!
P.Vasu could've better named this movie 'Saravanan',the name of the character Rajnikanth plays in the movie 'coz the real hero Chandramukhi gets hugely sidelined by his one-man show. But the audience owe their thanks nevertheless; otherwise,we would've had to endure more 'acting' by Jyotsna who plays Chandramukhi in the movie. And, to think this is the remake of a brilliant Malayalam movie 'Manichithrathazhu'(Sobhana who played the leading lady in the film also won that year's national award)gives one creeps. One cannot even attempt to compare the 2 movies, not to speak of the acting by the leading ladies. Jyothika is hopeless except for the final "Laka...la..ka..la..ka..." Rajnikanth is his usual self with the tag of Superstar labelled on him. This movie is only for ardent fans of Rajni. Those of you who would like to watch a good movie, please watch the original Malayalam version. If you want a truthful review of Chandramukhi read the one on Sify.com.

Yes, Rajni is undoubtly the Super Star for the last 2 decades and even at this age he is far superior than the younger heros and he does his role aplomb... Take heros like Ajith who often speaks but doesn't deliver at all here is the super star who is so cool and polite and doesn't bother about his image... His syle eventhough not shown much in Chandramukhi is still evergreen and directors should utilise in making/convince Rajni in acting 1 movie atleast in a year... It will be wonderful if Shankar comes up with movie staging Rajni and should be action oriented (James Bond type) where rajni will show all his styles and gimmicks and it will be really a treat to watch.

chandramukhi is the worst remake.how can they kill such a classic malayalam movie manichithrathazhu like this ? jyotika delivered a worst performance .never can compare with shobhana who won award for this film.

The movie is Gr8 . Rajni is Gr8. If rajni is Gr8 .. then everything ought ot enjoy he movie. It is a must watch movie for Rajni fans n Non rajni fans. Movie lovers are goin to enjoy the movie.
