Aamir is one among the very few....
by Soma on Apr 01, 2005 10:12 PM

..... intelligent actors we have today. I admire Aamir so much because, inspite of growing in the maze of the shallow Bollywood filmmaking, this young man has evolved his own creative style which is so distinctive and above average. I feel sorry that he is in this industry where there are very few "real" filmmakers. I just hope he is able to produce his own films so that he can give the world his best.

I too agree with Aamir's opinion on Devdas. Apart from Sharukh's exaggeration (rather's Bhansali's direction), Devdas is far from a film which is Bengali in its look and feel. The glittering frames would make any Bengali wonder about their zamindari past and perhaps make them laugh! Our films lack research, authenticity and depth of characterization. We need more Naseeruddin Shahs, Aamir Khans, Utpal Dutts today and perhaps intelligent and articulate scriptwriters and directors.

Aamir is right about Devdas!!!
by Noby on Apr 01, 2005 07:26 PM

Aamir Khan is one actor who believes in being an actor first and a star later. Its disgusting to hear the media heaving so much praise on Shah Rukh's acting skills and him being the numero uno of bollywood. What Shah Rukh has delivered again and again is the same repetitive characters...just the costume changes. Put Rahul of K3G in dhoti and kurta and here is Devdas. His performance has nothing new. Aamir on the other hand is a great actor who believes in enacting a range of roles, each different, yet entertaining. Way to go Aamir...u r the real numero uno!!!

Reasons For The Movie Devdas being a Fiasco in the eyes of a Bengali.
by RAJESH GHOSH on Apr 01, 2005 04:55 PM

In The First Place If Mr. Aamir Khan had gone through the piece of Literature delivered by the Late Sarat Chandra Chatterjee, he would definitely be taken aback at the way the storyline of the Famous Novel had been tampered by Mr. Bhansali. Nothing in the movie matched the backdrop of a 17th or 18th Century Bengal. The Characters were given a Larger than life look. The pomp & grandeur of the sets were obviously a total deviation leading to a Mammoth devastation of the work of art as a whole. Mr. Bhansali should have put in some time behind carefully studying the socio-economic-cultural of Bengal as detailed in the Novel itself, before venturing for the Marauding Act.

Regards.

how different wud amir had played devdas? what shahrukh did was more than brilliant and anything different wud have spoiled the film. i think the tag of 'versatile actor' has gone to his head and thats y he doesnt appreciate other's films.
