hi,
this is anupama from dharwad.
i watched ur program on aamir khan and found it
very good,a never before interview.
aamir is the finest actor of india, who doesn't work for money .if he would've gone the shahrukh way, promoting himself unlimitedely ,dancing at award funtions, weddings, aamir would have crossed shahrukh.
i deeply admire him for his sincerity and his not being greedy after money.i think he is on par with any of the top hollywood actors.

I quite agree with you Anupama. Aamir is one of the finest actors in India at par with Kamal Hasan. I am also from Dharwad and at present settled in Australia. I was thrilled to hear the name of Dharwad, which is like heaven for me

I Thiink Aamir is most over rated and over confident person in the film industry .He has no right to comment on any body' performance and when he talks about King Khan of Bollywood one should laugh it off.Is he so perfect ???? He has maintained his stategy and works like a snail in 20-50 takes for a scene .Aamir can't match the spontaneity or energy of shahrukh and yes aamir can't dance at ward functions as shahrukh links very easily with every body .and has more mass appeal .
Aamir has forgotten his performance in Mela or what ??

Devdas
by shreya on Apr 04, 2005 12:27 AM  | Hide replies

i don't understand y aamir is being asked abt wat he thinks abt sanjay leela bhansali's Devdas now after 2 yrs. its been aclaimed world over & also a commercial hit.and i think aamir has no business commenting on shah rukh's performance.he's neither dilip kumar nor amitabh bachan.SRK has proved himself.Aamir doesn't belive in our country's awards but he is ready to lobby for Oscars.i had a really high regard for him, but his opinions abt others is really fake.& also i feel the media has no other work other than putting one person against the other.& this questions coming from shekhar gupta is really absurd.i think success got onto aamir & he thinks he's the best.but the audience know better than him.or maybe he thinks people know nothing.

shreya, you're damn right. first of all, this was a stupid thing to ask aamir. and even if asked, aamir should have been decent enough not to speak his mind.

this is just as crazy as shatrughan sinha once saying that he feels he's a better actor than amitabh bachchan, but amithabh is more popular because he scores over him (shatru) in looks department. shatru may have spoken his mind, but he ended up making a fool of himself. and that's what aamir is doing here. i am not hinting at a direct analogy but actors of such high repute like aamir should'nt go on saying anything they want.

Not fair!!
by Prateek on Apr 03, 2005 12:14 PM

I don't think there can be any match against the astonshing performance of SRK.He was superb in that movie..
I also agree with Aamir that he would have the same role differently!!! but he can never look real devdas as srk looks in the movie..

This is apalling...asking aamir about SRK's performance in Devdas..and his answer that he would done it differently just proves his arrogance and vanity! Devdas isn't my favourite film either but kudos to SRK who like a thorough professional did exactly what he was asked to do unlike Aamir who is famous(infamous) for his interfering with the directors work. The director of the film visualises a concept and the actors just
do what they are asked to do. Aamir should turn a director first and then comment on how a movie should be made. For Lagaan too, it was just his production and it was ashutosh gowarikar whose script and direction made Lagaan what it is and not Aamirs acting prowess.

thanks vikram pratap singh, u told what i (a typical hindi film audience) am worth of. and i'm sure u rave about star treks and mindless matrix movies. because western audience is intelligent and indians are fools. we only know dancing around trees, revenge stories, seperated at birth plots, amiri garibi conflicts. we don't have any sense of aesthetics, characterizations, visual flair, sound, editing, etc etc. we don't know what to appreciate and what not!!

i seriously would like to ask rediff guys don't you read a message to approve it for posting. i think if u obliged Mr. vikram pratap singh, the next worst thing would be to post a message full of swear words.

outright ridiculous!!
