What the (de)composer Anu Malik has not said is that most of his songs are being ghost composed by Ranjit Barot!! Only in India can mediocrity rule! He is one of the most overrated music directors... and thanks to his relentless marketing, producers are falling for it!
Give me a original Shankar Ehsan Loy, a Vishal Shekhar or a Harris Jayraj any day!
Excerpt-"That was one of the best songs sung by me because no one believed it was me"
If they knew it were him they wouldnot have listened to it in the first place. But good to know his vies about "working on nervous energy".. that shows that an honest stain still exists how many ever songs he picks...:o))

Hi Sarath, Don't you think you are a bit condescending about your criticism of Anu Malik. I can bet that you and your friends buy a Rahman album because its the 'cool' thing to do. I agree that Rahman is a good composer. Does it mean that Anu is a charlatan. If you are a true music lover you will give Anu his due. For me Illayaraja is the greatest composer in India. No one comes near to him. By the way I'm not a Bombayite. I'm from Kerala settled in Boston.

Hi Sunny...
Yes I agree...There is no one who can compared to Ilayaraja. He is a maestro. Where Ilayaraja and where Anu Malik...? And I have to say A R Rahman is a great composer too but wont come close to Ilayaraja. Rahman is a globl musicians. You see World Music is one of the best music genre youve to listen. Merging of Ethnic and modern sounds is simply superb. In India, people rarely listen to world music, Rhman introduced this type of music in India. So people fell in love with his music...(me too). But after listening to a lot of International world beat music, my interest in Rahman gone down. But in Ilayaraja's case it never happened. His songs are great and will remain evergreen. And in between, where did this Anu Malik came from? He has lifted a 1000 tunes and still calls him a musician. Shame...Shame on you Mr.Malik.
Gurindar Chaddha chose you for her film as she wanted something "Hindli filmi". Which should not come up to that International level...but should sound exactly as a Hindi film. If she opt for Rahman, he will go beyond that. As he knows how to blend western instruments with Indian. And Chadd aknows you wont come up to the standard where you are...!

Hey, If you think Anu's music is too good, then I'm sorry to say your taste for music is really poor. How can you enjoy such run-of-the mill formula based compositions of his? Listen to rahman or shankar-ehsaan-loy and feel the difference.
