Frankly, i'm quite neutral to the happenings here. Agreed that Fida was a badly made movie loosely inspired from humraaz and ajnabee in bits. but it is also a sad thing that good movies like yuva, lakshya and phir milenge are doing badly. the audience these days have become quite sex starved boosting the business of senseless movies like murder, girlfriend and julie. ps:- i've nothing against feel good movies like hum tum, main hoo na and kal ho na ho too. the truth is that these feel good movies are the ones that provide us sense or relief from the harsh realities of life, compared to grim movies. but that doesn't mean people patronise mediocre movies like garv and others. in fact, i checked statistics. the truth is that main hoo na is the top most grosser with 34 crores(overseas and domestic), followed by mujhse shaadi karoge with 25 crores, hum tum with 20 crores, garv with 15 crores and murder with 12 crores!! so that the statement that garv is the biggest hit of the year is kinda shocking, actually!! hopefully our audience will start taking to movies with more substance in the future.
I viewed FIDA on DVD since no Hindi movies in Blore. Its a different type of story.Kareena has done a la Baazigar.Film is good & acting wise shahid kapoor stands out.Its very sad tosay that its flop.It isdifferent from run of the mill movies & certainly not the sex films of malika Shervat & Neha Dupia.Excellent locales & different plot makes it an interesting film altogether.Ken Ghosh shd not feel disheatened.Kareena looks aged compared to Shahid Kapoor. They shd keep their affairs personal & not on the screen.Fardeen & Kareena's casting is appropriate.
i havent watched the movie yet,but i would just like to clarify one line in your page, that in ishq vishk, the actress was Amrita Rao and not Amrita Arora.you guys are close to movies and have access to everthing concerned to movies, you should not make such blunders.thanks anyway.
what's Kareena doing in the movie ? all her movies are so boring and fida too join the same list. be it Refugee or Yaadein or Khushi or "Pu" in KKKG or MPKDH , watching her on screen - it's so boring. and heard she's demanding lotza money too.. all her Movies are Big Flops.. why don't these Directors and producers learn from their mistakes ?
Wen ter r so many talented Actresses, WHY KAREENAAAAA....?????? she dunno how 2 learn frm her mistakes.. i think she shud Quit without wasting more producers and audiences time and money.. and Shahid ... he's still a Boy.... Shahid 'n Kareena better go off screen 'n start studyin in High school... 'n Ishq Vishk becomin' a surprise Hit - VJ Shehnaz 'n other new faces did d magic..
It has become a habit of our filmi pundits to term a movie flop ASAP. Lets see the box office results for another week or more. In the first week Fida did extremely good business in all the urban centers. Well nowadays all India hit in all centers is a thing of past. The movie is slick, fast paced, entertaining movie. Yeah, it does not belong to the genre of feel good movies, which is the latest addiction of Indian audience. Lets not pull down any honest endevor (either from the directorial point of view, acting, cinematography or music) like this. And for the kind information of the author of this article dont unnecessarily over publicize any movie like Garv, which is neither a very good movie from the critical angle and from the business angle it is just an average movie (by the way this movie collected only Rs.75573 as an average per show in the 4th week as per the data provided by Taran Adarsh, this cant be the per screen collection in the 4th week for the biggest hit of the year. How come rediff is terming Garv is the biggest hit ignoring Main Hoon Na, Hum Tum, Lakshya and Murder. Please do a little bit of MS Excel before making these stupid comments.

darling rudra dont confuse yourself with trade facts , taran adarsh is in business long now to declare which movie is a hit and flop, a movie if realeasd in india is not watched by people of mumbai and other places, the fact is that garv is a big hit of 2004 in whole of india, so get your facts right before arguing in the forumn.ok darlin
Its a pathetic movie..perfect nonsense....the first half where it shows how the two fall in love is worse than the normal hindi movies....the second half doesnt hold any suspense at all...songs are not required. THe director has assumed that people will like to watch any crap he offers. The deal they have and the subsequent movie doesnt make any sense to the viewer. I hope people like Ken Ghosh rely more on script rather than just show off!
