Coke and politics
by M Menon on Mar 26, 2004 10:17 PM

The real issue is over exploitation of ground water and the sufferings of the village people. It is not just Communist party's issue. So please don't give political color to this issue.

There should be laws to prevent such over exploitation or plug the loop-holes in existing laws. And Mammooty can do a lot with that money to help the people. Let's see where his loyalty is.

Mammooty and Coke
by Ashok Kumar on Mar 26, 2004 05:02 PM

This is rediculous. Politics seems to be poking its nose everywhere. Would Kairali refuse Ads of COKE in its telecast?. If so, how PEPSI or THUMS UP are better placed?. The standards should be same for all soft drink manufacturers.

If you really want to protest, ban manufacturing and distribution of these drinks in your place. Do the communist parties have the gut and will to do that? Protesting something just for the heck of publicity will not give the parties much mileage as they might think.

One could only pity Mammotty for the loss of a business opportunity. The man, after all his good conducts, has to prove to some jokers, his commitment to the welfare of the public.

Coke Brans ambassedor
by Vivek on Mar 26, 2004 04:22 PM

Mammootty has to go ahead with signing the contract of South Indian Ambassedor with Coke - cola. The decision has to be taken by Mr. Mammotty only not by the communist party. Every Indian Citizen has the right to do that
The Left parties have the bad habit of objecting everything. Thats not good for our State & the people has to understand that truth

mammooty cant coke
by iravikumar on Mar 26, 2004 02:50 PM

it is highly unethical on the part of mammooty to accept the coke offer. firast he ashould understand why they sign him, though he is not a teenage icon nor does he have a huge youth fan following. it is a clever political move by the ruthless capitalist giant to woo the malayalees by making him a coke ambassaddor.coke and pepsi are giving peptic ulcer to millions of humans the world over other than that what they do?plachiada is a tip of the iceberg. these shylocks wont leave india before sucking the last drop of water. so it is advisable a man of mammooty;s stature dont play into the hands of these money thirsty monsters.

highly unfair
by rohit menon on Mar 26, 2004 02:47 PM

it is highly unfair that an actor like mammooty is going to be the brand ambassador of coke... even though he is an actor, he has got some social committments... and we think that we will definitely get back from this offer.

What a Pity!
by Vijay Sarathi on Mar 26, 2004 02:43 PM

Dear Sir,

this is ridiculous....How can the issues be connected? How many communists leaders are there who do not consume these soft-drinks, how many of them do not drink packaged water? I guess no many...The same communists want multinationals to invest in India! As a ardent fan of the people in God's own country i think it would be better these communists come out of their dogmatic thinking and allow the state develop......
