hello! it was nice reading about kamal after long time. quite excited to know e is thinking of MArathi film. if he can manage for producers Marathi people have great stories with great message. i agree with himabout why Marathi culture has given itself to Hindi cinema. but, lack of money resources inspite of 15 lakh help fron state govt. is the leading cause. moreever pleasing urban as well as rural people is a mammoth task in Maharashtra. I would be grateful to Kamal if he really does something out the way to help Marathi films.....thanking him in advance for even thinking about Marathi films. waiting for him...
It is a candid admission by you that U R not after money which is why I'm a very, very, very big fan of yours. Here in this perverted world, everything right from success, adulation, respect and preference are being accorded to people only based on their bank balance. However, there are honest fans like me who R here to support your ideas, dreams and ventures like Marudhanayagam. It is a pity that I'm not a multi millionaire and if I were one, I wouldn't mind parting them in fulfilling your dream project "Marudhanayagam".
Keep entertaining us through your brilliant portrayels.
It will be great to see Kamal Hasan in Marathi movies. Though the roots of Indian film industry are in Maharashtra, due to monotonous films marathi films lost their charm. The quality degraded severely to a point that people would be laughing at a person going to marathi movie. Efforts were made by some producers, but could not give much results. If actors like Kamal Hasan show interest in Marathi movies, will be a great help to Marathi film industry. Many Thanks to Kamal Hasan
It is a purposeful interview and the points discussed were really an open minded. I was made Kamal's fan after watching his film "Mundram Pirai" and I was admired by his great involvement in his work. I watched all his earlier films whether it is a black and white or colour at the theatres whereever it was running, not minding the condition of the theatre.
I think he already attained the status of great actor after Shivaji Ganeshan and Rajkapoor in India.
I HAVE PRIDED MYSELF ON BEING THE SECOND BIGGEST FAN OF KAMAL; THE TOP POSITION GOING TO THE ACTOR HIMSELF ! It had been my grouse that most of the interviews with him have been trivialised, the questions being of a very mundane and run-of-the-mill nature.
So, I was refreshed and thrilled to read the two-part interview by Ms. Shobha Warrier. The questions were of a searching nature and brought out the best of Kamal.
Thank you, Ms.Shobha. We look forward to similar interviews with thinking stars like Mani Rathnam, Bharati raja or K. Balachander
It is so nice that Kamal is thinking of doing a Marathi movie. It was really nice to hear that he adores Marathi culture.Tamilians do deserve appreciation for their true love and pride for their language and state. Unfortunately for Maharashtrians,of course they are proud of their language and culture, have too low esteem and they have actually given up to Hindi culture.I feel all Maharashtrians should exclusively speak Marathi and retain their glorious language and culture. Kamal,we do also have pride and love for our language, but we are too 'tolerant'...and thats y we make only 25% of population of our capital,Mumbai now.Maharshtrians shud learn something from our tamil brothers...certainly. Jai Hind,Jai Maharashtra Rajev
Now that is a conversation with a person who has grown beyond the cliched attention that movie actors or makers get. Kamal Haasan has proved it time and again that a good film is good purely because of the content, the characters and how they are portrayed, and how much of thought and appreciation each frame in the movie evokes in the viewer's mind. Commercials that categorise whether a movie is a hit or a flop are for those who dont think! I have yet to see an actor like Kamal Haasan whose each expression, gesture, depiction of a character or commitment to the character's essence are as aptly and admirably portrayed! I am not one of those silly fans of movie stars you would find masquareding around, but pride myself in being able to distinguish talent, and identify strength of character when I see it. I think Kamal Haasan has it. We need more like him making movies than these silly running-around-the-tree chock-boy midriff-flaunting girl movies! I think the Indian audience needs to grow up and appreciate art, which I think film-making really is!
