Man are u crazy or somthin'....the movie is absolutely fabulous..itz one of the best movies to hit the hindi screen for a long long time. The story narration, cinematography, performances are all of the top draw. Only minus point i can thk of is the fact that the movie seems to be draggy a times but all in all a fantastic movie.

no spoilers please

i think rediff should take care about the reviewers who place 'spoilers' in their reviews. in this case 'asking for someones good fortune and then the subsequent death of the person' is more than obvious at whom it is talking about. so mr. reviewer, if u have happened to watch the movie, atleast have to courtesy to not spoil it for others

Lakshya User review by Anoop

U got it right Anoop. Somehow Farhan got it wrong this time around. There is nothing great abt it except for the cinematography - everything else is just cliched. Everything that "cool" Farhan could have avoided.

Dev is anyday a much better movie.

To the reader.

Hi,I don't say Lakshya is the best or something like that. But I must mention something about what u've written.

For one,it is "not" a "war" film as such(like you put it).A major portion of it is devoted to it,agreed. And when you know what you are going to watch, why should you expect something "different" --even in a war??(you say it is full of cliches).A war is fought in only one way.And this repetitive nature is the very reality of war.

Thank him for not showing an "entertaining" war film,by infusing excessive drama, which is quite possible.Isn't that rare?Of course, couple of songs can be done away with. But everything else,be it the setting, the talk, the atmosphere is done with such precision. And by the way,the speech by Bacchan is what it is like in reality.

Your views may be anything, but the fact that it is placed "just for the sake of being a counter to another reader review" and is a "hurried piece of work" cannot be ignored.

Regards
Nick.

2 points:

a.) The writer, does admit that his inormation might be outdated. So spare him on that.
b.) The movie, even though supposedly fictitious, might be logically pegged around 1999-2000 - was the Second Lt. rank out of use even then? Just curious
