Much as I enjoyed 'chaiyya chaiyya' it was not Malaika Arora but Sonali Bendre who truly pioneered the 'item number' in Hindi Films. Wonder if you remember 'Humma Humma' from Mani Rathnam's 'Bombay'? Mani Rathnam, incidentally, was also the director of 'Dil Se'- the film which showcased Arora's svelte figure. The Indian trains will never be the same again.

not to forget the opening sequences of the female leads in mani's movies...... the shall blowing away to show manisha in dil se !! and manisha's burka fluttering up to show her face in bombay (combined with some awesome background music)

The entry of Jakie Sharoff in 1942 A love story.. when manisha sees the house and her father explode and tries to run towards it..enters jackie at an unexpected time..
