As an Englishman, this film did seem a little 'lack-lustre' compared to the normal Bollywood standard. It was, however, a good story not very well told in this case. There were a few technical inconsistencies, for example; it is nearly impossible to shoot at someone with a shotgun from a few feet, and miss!
We get few Bollywood movies here in the UK, so all in all I was pleased to have this rare treat. (I have just watched it on TV) The scenery was stunning, and the story thought-provoking.
A shameful movie. An exact copy of the Hollywood movie "Witness" starring Harrison Ford. This shows that both Father(Mahesh Bhatt wrote the screen play) and daughter Pooja Bhatt(directed the movie) lacks talent, imagination and creativity. Instead just watch the "Witness". Its worth every money you pay for it.
Gosh.. this movie was one of the worst Ive ever seen. Besides the scenery and John Abraham's body, there was NOTHING good about it. The acting... very horrendous. How come this simple Buddhist girl's face is always Packed with makeup. HOw superficial. And John Abraham... shot in the stomach yet manages to drive in hilly steep mountainranges despite haluccinating consistently. One word - Pathetic
'Paap' lacks universal appeal, which was actually expected from it. It defines 'The Paap' from single dimension-envisaged by conservative and escapist father of the girl-revolving around sexuality. Even this definition of 'The Paap' given by Papa is so flimsy that it evaporates with few good lines spoken by macho hero. The movie failed to present the strength and vigour of 'The Paap', which is so overwhelming that even enlightened persons fail to conquer it. The conflict between 'The Virtue' and 'The Paap' is also unconvincing. Besides, the journey of Papa from conservatism to leberalism is unconvincing and quite erruptive. It is starnge that the writer like Mahesh Bhatt who has got the nerves of inarticulate human emotions and thoughts failed to define 'The Paap' and its destructive vigour. It seems to be a half baked attempt on his part or his succumbing to pressure of religious lords due to the involvement of a particulur religious sect in the theme. The movie is good as far as its pictorial quality is concerned. The camera has very successfully captured the enchanting and rustic beauty of Laluh and Sapiti. Guninder Singh Sidhu
