by Kathiresan.k on Jan 17, 2004 06:19 PM

Kamalhassan has once again and Overall has proved his Genius...Really the Film is SuperDooper Hit and this is a forever memborable one for kamal, and also for the culture and regional happenings of TAMILNADU.
FYI, I am secretary of Rajinikanths Fan Association, but i am really coming forward to say this is like a film - BAATCHA is to Rajini means - Virumaandi is for kamal.

KAMAL HASAN
by Firoz Aziz Sayyad on Jan 17, 2004 01:42 PM

The only South Indian star who could do something in Bollywood with his acting from Ek Duje Ke Liye to Hey Ram. In all the films he did a fantastic and remarkable acting which Hindi audience really enjoyed. No one but our Angry young man lambooji Amitabh too admintted that there is only actor in India Cenema he loved in acting is Kamal Hasan who casted with him in Giraftar. We really like his acting in Appu Raja in triple role. Hope Kamal will continue in future to and make Hindi/Urdu audience enjoying to watch him. All the best to Kamal Hasan..... Seems like a good movie , but the most striking thing about this review is, it not being one - instead, the reviewer narrated the whole story.

This is not intended to be a personal attack, but it is just to understand whether you review your own reviewers.

PS: As one of the avid readers of rediff.com, it is my request to also have the profile of each of your regular columnists/reviewers.

Kamal's complexion
by V on Jan 17, 2004 10:00 AM

Shoba Warrior's comment on Kamals complexion (below) is not entirely justified. I have many friends from the Thevar community and some of them are as fair skinned as Kamal. Also, I have met fair skinned people from the Madurai, Ramanathapuram areas who are fair skinned....not many, but they do exist!

"One jarring note in the film is Kamal's fair skin, which stood out like a sore thumb. Among all the other dark-skinned villagers, his extremely fair skin did not go well. Perhaps he should have darkened his skin to look like the rest of them."

Spoiler Alert

How can a reviewer be so naive? Please add a "Spoiler Alert" warning on your heading!! I have never seen a review like this that too without a spoiler alert!! You have spoilt my fun in seeing the movie!!

It is not fair to give an inch-by-inch story of the movie!!

bad review

Shoba,
You seem to make sure you never mention a word about music if the MD is Ilayaraja. Disgusting. You need to learn to keep your personal tastes and differences away while reviewing a movie.
Sorry to say, your review is incomplete.
