The film is brilliantly made. Mel Gibson could've well fabricated it to suit the likes of the writer of this article and mindless critics the world over, but he chose to depict the event as it really happened and he has been really successful at that. Everyone knows how the crucifixion went, so weak hearted viewers, like the writer, should stay at home and watch cartoon network instead. violence yes, but animated and bearable.
Beautiful article written on Mel Gibson Where is the sould in Passion, when it is comming to India, I would love to watch this movie with my near & dear. This movie will change the people mentality to move away from anger, hatred, sex to meditation, humanity, passion & sympathy toward living being in this world for peace. All the Best to movie maker my most charming , handsome dream man, Mel Gibson. His movie Brave Heart & other unique Oscar award movie's had thouched my heart & soul.
Thanks for the movie I personaly feel that this is a partial enactment of what realy happened. I thank u for ur courage to show the world the suffering of Christ.
This is just a great movies. It's not just a movie but it has so much to offer to tell the fact about the death of Christ Jesus. This is the message to the whole world about the salvation offer by Christ to the world. Thanks
I personally want to thank Mel Gibson for doing a great film in the film history. nobody has given a clear picture of what has been done to Jesus. We say that Jesus has been crucified and that too in a simple tone and in a casual manner. This movie takes us to the very close visibility. I recommend that this movie must be seen by every humans atleast just to know that there is a true way in Jesus. No man can ever sin again after seeing this movie. I would like to say that this movie is better called as documentary. God Bless You Mel for this wonderful film and let God add more souls in His Kingdom. Thank you very much.
Hi everybody. you all are making sance about. Passion, has we know that, our lord sufferd not because we are holy but because we all sin aganist god we all deserv to to die but jesus had that compassion& passion for all humanbing thas why he died on cross, now peopl who don't understand whats sin, they will never be going to apriciat what jesus did on cross so my prayer is that, Father forgive this people they don't know what they are talking!
I agree with Arthur Pais' insightful review. The film is senselessly violent and misses the whole point- that Jesus was egalitarian and died to make this world a more compassionate place. I most certainly would not take my kids to see a film so intentionally macabre. More so it's a bigoted and racist film by Mel Gibson who is know to be anti-abortion, anti gay, anti feminist and anti Papal. Gibson's father is renowned for being anti semitic. He has gone so far as to rationalize the entire Holocaust where the Nazis executed almost 6 millions jews. The next thing you know Gibson will make a film on Richard the Lion Heart and his father will deny the Crusades against European Muslims. A shame that two such depraved minds should be associated with a film about a character who preached love for all. Besides which the film is also historically inaccurate. Gibson has done his worst by trying to make Pontius Pilate appear benign and conscious stricken and the Romans look like pawns. If the Jews conspired against Jesus then Pilate had him crucified and the Romans hammered the nails into him. The 'actual' crime was committed in essence by Pilate without whose consent/command Jesus would not have been crucified. The fact that anyone might even consider blaming the Jews for Jesus' death one millenium after the event is in itself ridiculous. In the turbulent times we live in films should soothe not incite people, should spread religious harmony not fundamentalism. This film is not just a badly made film its irresponsible. Using a compassionate figure like Jesus to spread hate is unforgivable. There are most certainly better Jesus films out there. Sara Khan
