sex in hindi films
by N.SIVAKUMAR on Dec 27, 2005 11:53 AM

Actually glamour is necessary in the films. But not too much of glamour will make a problem to our generation as they take it as a light one and also that will spoil their studies, discipline, unity in the family. It will affect our neighbourhood relations also. If too much sex and irregular relationship are shown in films will definitely affect our family style.

Subject: YUPP

well Sex is not taboo in Indian inudustry, but we have come across v few ORIGINAL Indian movies wich revolved around say fidelity or Sex without Titillating th audience..
Directors who say that their script demands it is absurd ..hardly has a sensible movie come across in past years which hadnled sex effectively .....
It is only used as a medium to cash in...to create controversies........

Move over..tum , khwaish...etc....You dont stand a chance

it's not about what they do
by blue on Jun 07, 2004 07:38 PM

the problem only arises when the makers throw in the scenes just for the heck of it. sometimes intimacy can work really well in movies, if it's portrayed well. of course, it's about more than just physical contact, something most indian filmmakers have yet to understand.

intimacy should be private
by Srinath on Apr 25, 2004 11:18 AM

Well Mallika sherawat upon being asked how she felt after khwaish said " she felt normal & there was no problem to do intimate scenes in which a girl is shown to be on her honeymoon after all we all know what happens on honeymoons "
well i will say " the whole world knows what a guy has & what a girl has but still then why do we wear clothes to cover them ? "

intimacy should be totally a private affair & there is absolutely no need to show it onscreen.
it is so embarrassing to see such scenes with the parents & when it comes up suddenly in the movie one can neither get up & run away nor can one stay there & watch it.

moreover films with absolutely no sex or intimate scenes have been bollywood's biggest blockbusters..
for instance Sholay,Lagaan etc.. had no intimate scenes in them but were still major hits..

Bollywood , pls donot copy blindly from Hollywood.

time our filmakers grew up!!!
by neha on Mar 26, 2004 01:39 AM

we all must reallize that more than indian audiences...our filmakers need to mature up...a scene of sexual intimacy requires the zenith of artistic caliber than any other...hence the indian filmakers need to view the delcacy and the beauty that should be involved in making such scenes a visual treat for the audience...and not just a lustful porno display...audience has and will always appreciate...a great piece of art!

firstly the question is not whether we are bold enough or not.what boldness does it require to see an
explicit scene?why copy the west in everything they do?If the daughter of a star who has done those scenes sees the film, what will she think?anyway sex is easily available on the net. This is against our culture to say the least.

is story demands???
by gr.siva on Feb 26, 2004 07:42 PM

i really don't know where and how the "STORY DEMANDS" intimate scenes? how does the director determine at what degree it demands? i believe inclusion or exclusion of intimate scenes have nothing positively, to do with the flow of story.the common audience's predilection to intimacy is being encashed by the film makers under the name of story's demand. the opt reference here would be, the admission of a bollywood VIP ( i could not remember who he is) in filmfare: " sex sells and why to take risk?"
perhaps censor board seems to have given the director the freedom to show whatever he wants ( or the audience prefer?!!!) are they presume that all moviegoers are matured enough to pick up their choice by guessing its likely content? the originality of the bollywood would soon succumb to the invasion of hollywood culture. any contradictory opinions?
