Hey the only good part of the movie is that there are two people who look hot in the movie:
1) Uma Thurman &
2) Chiaki Kuriyama (now who's that?)....Go Go Yubari...girl who wields a ball and chain.
Full stop

You have the power...
by Piyush Dhoot on Apr 24, 2004 08:15 PM

With all due respect to your point of view, i think it is "stupid". I searched hard for a word, but this is the most direct i could find.
No one forces you to watch these movies, in the theatre or otherwise. And just because a movie is not made as you wanted it to be does not give you the right to question its reason to be made.
QT made the movie as he saw fit. He added scenes as he saw fit. Get it? As HE saw fit. Because its HIS movie.
We all have a choice. We can either watch it the way it is supposed to be watched, the way QT wants it to be watched... Or we can whine about a movie being but into 2.
I watched Kill Bill 2 in the theatre and liked it enough to watch it again.
As for the three dvd's, you dont have to buy them, you know... You do have control over your money.

Get a life buddy!!!!!!

Sachin Gandhi or whoever you are, its time you shut your big mouth!!!!!!! You are questioning QUENTIN TARANTINO!!!! Man, you have guts!! Criticism is good, but not this. Name one Indian director who matches QT's imagination. The answer is NONE!!!! QT is the best director in the world. I say this inspite of being an Indian.

The Worst Movie of the year
by Nagesh on Apr 21, 2004 11:48 PM

I dont know whether it's because the Hype generated or its that most of the media has already given the movies directed by Quentin Tarantino as hit status. In my opinion, this should be the worst movie of the year, what else could you expect from a movie which shows blood fountains now and then, and imho a cartoon too is included in case if the kids want to watch this movie. If this is what some people call it a good movie then I would rather say that those B-grade movies made in india (Especially including Mithunda and having mindless actions included)are far better.

by sumier on Apr 21, 2004 09:19 PM

the true fact is, both those movies are better than any crap u get to watch here anyway...i don't mind paying twice to see them...so quit whining...both vol 1 and 2 are awesome. And if you didn't like vol.2, just goes to show what kind of movie critic you are.

I have seen them both
by Venkat Raghavan Rangamani on Apr 21, 2004 09:18 PM

Iam a big QT fan all the way going forward from Reservoir Dogs. I can recite the dialogues of Pulp Fiction byheart and know every song of the soundtrack. Needless to say, I went and watched Kill Bill 2 here in Boston the day it was released. It is excellent and Iam going to see it again - maybe with my sweety when I visit Chennai.

If you are like me and though Kill Bill 1 was full of blood and gore(not that Iam complaining about that !) and lacked the masterful subtleties of QT, you should watch KB2 which is rich with QT's crazy brand of dark humour and cartloads of attitude.

There are some scenes which are parallel to the ones in Pulp Fiction. Most notably, I found parallels to Sam Jackson's quoting of the bible before he unloads his bullets in PF and also the talk about the watch from his father's army-mate to the boy, Butch. I wont give anything more away. You go see it now !

Two parts so what ? Big deal !
by Venkat Raghavan Rangamani on Apr 21, 2004 09:09 PM

Since when did we become so frugal that we are peeved about a movie being made in 2 parts ? Big deal. The best movies have always been made in several parts - Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Godfather to name a few.

If the director finds it useful to take a slow pace and break up the movie into several pieces then so be it. If the movie is good enough, then the audience will pay for it, otherwise it will fall flat on its face.

The Indian movie going public has to deal with so many badly made movies that its certainly not going to complain about shelling out money for an extra ticket. Its got bigger fish to fry.

Blah
by Black Mamba on Apr 21, 2004 05:17 PM

I knew that rediff only publishes pathetic blahs when it comes to Hollywood movies.
This Sachin Gandhi need not have blahd so much if he were more net savvy because the original Kill Bill script is freely available. And of course he should do an exclusive with karan johar as it seems that it serves best to this Gandhi's tastes in film making and other editorial instincts. He wouldnt know art. Art like anime and story telling will have him go blah all over again.
