Don\'t know waht Ms Gumaste wants
by Sunil on May 28, 2003 05:20 AM

Hey,

Armaan is really a good movie. Each minute of the movie is worth watching. I pity Ms Gumaste's choice if she felt that the movie is not worth watching. Did she really watch the movie before writing the review ???????

Armaan is beautiful, clean, entertaining, sensible, and graceful
by AMAN BHARDWAJ on May 28, 2003 01:29 AM

But reading it's reviews by so called film critics will take a sensible viewer no time to understand how they make mockery of their profession. Watch the movie and you'll come to know what I mean.

A general feeling expressed by these reviewers is that there should have been more of Amitabh in the movie. Somebody please explain these critics that a strong character like Amitabh's in Armaan is not meant to be measured by reels but by its characterization, depth, portrayal, and the impact it leaves. And Dr. Siddharth Sinha (Amitabh Bachchan) excels by each of these criteria. It's been ages since we saw Amitabh in a role so powerful, real, and close to heart.

Another criticism is that the story is too simple. I'll say please read it as 'real'. No roller coaster rides, no devious villains, no larger than life saviors, no voluptuous actresses. It is a story of normal people facing life's normal, and some not so normal circumstances with strengths and weaknesses of normal magnitude. It's the beauty of simplicity that makes this movie so extra-ordinary. How often do you get to see a movie so simple and simply remarkable?

So it's not Armaan that is way off the mark but these review

Deepa - You are Way Off the Mark
by Laxmikant on May 26, 2003 06:13 AM

Armaan is a very very light movie directed with brlliance of simplicity handling a complex situation. All the characters have done extremely well. Deepa, either you should stop reviewing Films, or Rediff should stop publishing your senseless/brainless reviews; or we shall stop reading both Deepa & Rediff Fil review.

REVIEWER IS OFF THE MARK NOT THE FILM
by vikas on May 24, 2003 02:42 PM

i dont know all u reviewers rate any film.now a film is bad or off the mark just because its promos told u about the story.if this is ur way then i suspect that u r off the mark.today anyone can guess story of the just by its promos.honestly today bollywood films doesnt have a great storyline.what we see in todays films?which film today have great storyline.talk about srk,s films or anyone.armaan,s story was somewhat different.u cant expect every film to be a thriller.every actor and actress performed well.either it was amitabh or it was gracy.dont complain about amitabh's role,it was his guest in this film.its his greatness taht he stole all praises
why didnt mr reviewer saw film's treatment.why the screenplay, the direction ,dialouges were noticed.
today problems of our viewers is that they dont understand a good ,different film.we indians r just sick of seening same type of action or srk style film.
