I don't know why the review is negative but then again, considering the usual crap that Hindi movie industry puts out these days, its understandable. What is different here is that this film is actually very likable and unique. It deals with real-world issues and doesn't try to camoflague everything with a 'sugary sweet' spin. I loved this movie, especially the script and the female performance. I would recommend it to all, especially the ignorant indian masses out there.

Hi Andrea i too agree with u but don't u think about the way that bolly films r moving could u remember indian culture after 1 2 3 decades
i think editor has taken the whole movie in negeive manner. lekha is a educated , modern, open thinking girl and studying in poona.before marriage she doesent allow amar to take any advantage and advices him to wait untill the marreage. except some scienes all the kissing and exposere scenes are shown after marriage which shows the love and affection between the wife and husband with high reality.she supports her husband inv his bad time to complete his mba. after marreage she tells her husband the reality of the increasing gap between them due to his work and watching tv. it shows that at chawl thay were more happy than in the flat though during those period they didnt have mony. it gives an advice to all the couples to remove some time from their work for family. when she gets 5 lacks she does not allow for foreign trip but advices amar to increase the bank balance and to purchase the house. mallika has played the role with high hights of acting and face expression and i would say the move is made for middle and working class families rather than the tappories. i suggest every couple to see the movie atleast once.

C'mon guys. Our culture shouldn't be influenced by films. If our culture rests on flimsy films, then we have more to worry about than the films themselves. Rather than blame movies, we should be educating our younger generations about today's issues and instilling morals and values. That is the job of the parents, not films. To me films are escapism, but should address real-world issues. At the same time, I'm not going to run out and become like a character I saw in the film. I have my head firmly on my shoulders thanks to my cultural roots provided to me by my parents. Stop bashing great movies and start enjoying them for what they are - movies, just that and nothing more.

Dear Andrea
Inculcating cultural values is not just parents' duty but films do carry certain social responsibility. Many people in our country are influenced by films and very few people are remained unaffected.Secondly pictures easily get stored in the memory and sub conscious mind quickly and then the sub conscious mind starts reacting slowly and unknowingly by making changes in individual behaviour. Anyway i appreciate ur appraisal of cultural roots. best of luck for ur future.
