With all due respects, like many who may have pointed out already, this is a remake of a recent Tamil movie.
I would like to point out to the reviewer that no skill is involved when the title of the movie or the name of the villain, is directly lifted off the original (which by itself, could be a oft-repeated theme), not to mention the scenes. The director takes a ZERO for creativity under these circumstances. As a ardent follower of both Tamil and Hindi movies, I am excited about southern movies making an impact in Bollywood but am let-down by the current Hindi filmmakers. So much for their creativity and skill!!!

ok, i agree that DUM wasn't the best of movie, but come on... Vivek can't act? pleaze! he is like the second best actor india has (shahrukh is obviously the first). Anyone wo thinks that he can't act doesn't know what acting is. Acting is not singing and dancing that all the rest of the "actors" do, it is raw emotion that Vivek can express, and most of the other like all the Hrithiks out there. And besides, Vivek is damn sweet looking...

I agree to you. Dum is an absolute waste of money.Post interval there is nothing in the movie where the audience expected more.
I dont really understand your review are u writing it for the people or for urself i mean all your review i read are -ve but the movies are not bad as u write off learn to be fair enough as we public would only like to see some entertainment who really want to see real life things on screen life itself has many prob our view is just some fun u just say whether we can see some good new things in movie or not and ur -ve writing is ceratinly hitting the industry for sure as people will c it either on cable or.....
Be sensible and have some mercy , for its not about Power but Grace not about Anger But Peace.U have the power to write but if u mix it up with ur personal views and anger no point in bloddy reading this articles of yours

let me tell you one thing friend. a critic can only say things from his point of view. he cannot say what you like to hear simply because it goes against his/her very existence. and anyway its not about whether the guy is talking about problems in our society it is about the fact that the movie has tried to show them and has failed miserably. a movie like dum tries to convey a message and does nothing in the end. but of course if you are watching a govinda david dhawan movie you cannot expect sense out of it. it is pure comedy to lighten your mind and they are not trying to convey a message. but people making movies like dum got to try harder to give the audience their moneys due otherwise theyll end up the way dum did. "DUM NE AASAANI SE DUM TOD DIYA"

well i think tht people commenting on the story are fools here....all movies have same story the things which makes difference is the acting ...vivek acting was outstanding and his looks...oh god!!! i m crazy for him......tooooo sexy !!!!!!
This review makes my fear comes true, which I had observed in Company/Road/Saathiya..I knew VO is overhyped and dont have DUM.. Have seen all his films. He sucks in emotional scenes..Just the way Hrithik sucks in Comedy..
And what is an actor worth, if he cant portray emotions, vulneribility. The day is not far when all his inadequecies will get noticed. Today he is riding the wave of sucess. But this sucess is short...Doing good films and doing good acting are two different things.
