teens today!!
by ketki on Mar 20, 2003 11:16 PM

well, i do agree with ur article. it sure is very true that today's teens arevery focussed and carrer minded. however, there r some who still fall in the trap of romance and such stupid things. but majorly all know that if successful, all the others things will follow. but, DCH was surely a gr8 movie as the mood and sentiment behind the movie was gr8. its true that the characters of the movie have no problems related to finances and so they can take up carreers like painting!! and go for business trips to sydney!!
weel, we sure need much realistic teens movies.JJWS was one of the best teens movies ever made.

Taste Differs

All said and done, i really cannot understand why you had to put a movie like dil chatha hai in the same eague a style. While we all consider dil chatha hi as a mordern day classic, we all know where style falls. And why do you always have to compare the teen movies of hollywood with the peey youth movies of bollywood. And try to compare them and point out how much bollywood is lacking.Tell me, how many time can you see a movie like Elizibeth, which is a classic in some terms. And do you really want a perfect and stylish copy of American pie in hindi.Just Think about the effect it would have in the already confused 'desis'.I dont understand your point.I guess you dont either. All you want to say is that, hollywood films are supirior and bollywood films are not.Why should the indian audiance or film makers adopt the hollywood style, do you think it is logically correct for you to lambash people who try to put indianess(Yes! i dare say because it has become a part of indian life)into things they do.Your attitude towards your fellomen is pathetic.

Re: Bollywood Teen Movie - Bas Yun Hi

We share you sentiments on the types of films being made. I saw Dil Chahta Hai last year and, while I liked it, thought it was much too stylistic (and stylish) to be representative of us.

So, we decided to make a film that truly mirrors our lives, lifestyles, and issues. The film is called Bas Yun Hi. It stars Purab Kohli, Nandita Das, etc.

I hope that you have seen the promotion for the film. It is slated to release on Feb 14th. We hope that people relate to the characters and situations, and enjoy the film.

Regards,
Pratap Raju
