Absolute Misery when I read this.
by KK on Feb 27, 2003 02:25 AM

Boy,
Did this movie remind me of Misery by Stephen King.
Who took the credit for this one?

Story is a copy
by Viral on Feb 27, 2003 02:00 AM

Did it occur to you that this is a copy of an American movie called "Misery". Kathy Bates played the main part and even won an Oscar. I guess you forgot to mention that.

Ms Warrier,

You forgot to mention that this is a straight forward copy of "Misery". Kathy Bates won Best Actress Oscar for her role.

Julie Ganapathy - BalaMahendra - a copy cat
by Sridhar on Feb 27, 2003 01:49 AM

This movie is an utter copy of an old english movie....Balu Mahendra just did the work of selecting better artistes for the movie and entire story and sequences (except for the seductive number by Ramya....) stolen from the English which was far far better....

Julie seems to be shameless copy of ''Misery''
by Mani on Feb 27, 2003 01:46 AM

From the description, it appears that "Julie Ganapathi" is simply a copy of "Misery" made in 1990. "Misery" was based on a Stephen King bestseller by the same. Kathy Bates won an oscar for the role of the deranged fan and Rob Reiner won some praise for his brilliant direction. James Caan was amazingly subdued and contributed to this, basically two-actor drama.

I don't know why even Balu Mahendra needs to copy Hollywood films. Are the Indian moviemakers so lame that they need to borrow another culture's dreams?
