I saw this movie yesterday IN THEATER. I remember last movie I saw in theater is Kaho na pyar hai.
There were two reasons one, I like Gadar very much and was pained at times when Lagaan, no matter how good that movie might be was nth hollywood movie where one person combines different walk of people for a common goal to defeat enemy, got most of the praise specially from India's so called elite. Knowing very well that Gadar was best and most successful movie awards were showered on Lagaan.
By going to theater and seeing Hero is my way of tribute to this great combination of Anil and Sunny.
And I have to admit, in the 3 and half hours of movie I enjoyed every bit of it. Even three of the songs I was repeating while seeing. The music built on me as I watched the movie.
A job well done Anil and Sunny. I admire and may people see this and give the due respect.
It is one of the best films u will get to see this year. And certainly one of the best & sesible spy thrillers ever made in India. For once it is far better than the last venture of GADAR.While it was full of stuntbaazi and unbelievable sequences,THE HERO is much more realistic and Sensible and also authentic. All in all a must watch.
Exactly what I want to say. Please don't talk about Indian culture being moralistic and all the nonsense. Indian are so damn ignorant about other cultures in the world. Having lived for 25 years in India and watching drunk sons beating their mothers up in chawls in Bombay almost by norm, brides being mistreated by mother in law, relatives squabbling over family inheritance. Mind you that so called "moralistic" Indian culture is reflection of only the middle-class people who constitute only 10% of India's population the rest is very male dominated and chauvinistic culture. I think American culture is much more anti-hypocritical and true to itself. Having lived in US for 12 years, I have seen very strong bonds between mother and children than even in Indian families and one of the reasons is that kids learn to be independent at a very early age and are not after family inheritance because standard of living is as such as so high. Besides a country such as US producing nobel leaurates, finest actors, researchers, innovators cannot be built on second grade family values !!
A good fast moving thriller. A film miles ahead of what bollywood has seen so far. Priety Zinta again proving that she is one of those rare "cute" faces who can also act well, and Sunny... a role which suits him out and out.
Good direction, melodious music(though not as melodious as Gadar) and good theme, this film has everything thatll make it a BIG hit
Indiatimes seems to be biased in declaring the film a Flop.

Hehehehe!!!! look another kid rishi is jealous of sunny and his popularity. If HERO is worse then Devdas,DTPH,lagaan and all such nautanki and tamasha films are pathetic!!! Wake up Rishi HERO IS A HIT!!!!!
The Hero is a brillant film, excellent performances by Sunny and Preity. Sunny has shown that he can also do a brillant job for a love story. In this film, you will not see any ugly scenes like leading pair singing in rain, kisses, etc which you can't watch with your family but still there love story touchs once heart deeply. Once again, wonderful job by all of them.
i'd somewhat agree wid ur statement sayin south indian better then hindi moviez..but the world looks into india as a nation and i dunt care whether a movie is south india or hindi as long as itz gud . but hero is almost perfect wid a few glitches. i dunt know who said this movie would b a flop?
