Demonetization was proved good. It should further continue periodically but with reasonable preparedness.

The new currency came into circulation on 9th Nov. If Mr Urjit Patel was governor on that the currency is legal.

I am a professional CA and never ever resorted to Number 2 adjustment dandha (business) as many CAs have been doing thru entry system just to earn patti(small %).I was very happy as demonetisation broke the back bone of corrupt CAs and businessman.Shell companies overnight got exposed.Fake currency from Malda (under the nose of Mamta Banerjee) stopped coming into circulation including hit to ISI of pakistan.I can write pages on this that such a move was not at illegal but for the best interest of the country.

I support Rakesh's views and endorse the comments of Amit Shah. But Govt must also put behind bars all those guys who have not paid any ITax in the last 20 years but have deposited more than 10 or 20 lacs in Bank. So the common man will not raise the query that all the printed black money came back into banking system. Similarly who stops fake notes in new 2000 and 500 not entering the country. Govt must make few things transparent and will always be remembered by masses. Jai Hind

all these articles are circulated to bring back those spineless Indians having slave mentality. Looking at old masters for every step. Rediff should now change this attitude unless commercially nonviable.

common sense .. demo was illegal. even though raghuram rajan was governor, the notes got signed by the then his deputy Urjit. It was all fixed game.
