There are always ups and downs in life in general and the farmer is no exception. Either they are protesting because of draught or floods. Now when the minimum support prices that farmers were pleading for has been raised, there are complaints about that too! We need to tide over temporary problems with ingenuity and determination.

Milk on the roads--Horrible and shameful
by chandra on Jul 17, 2018 10:51 PM

Spilling milk on the roads has enraged the public sympathy against the farmers.NOw WE should not even think of giving them any monetary benefits.Do they not know that despite overproduction of milk India still suffers from extreme malnutrition of its growing children. We have amongst the lowest per capita intake of milk in the world. To press their demands, the farmers should have behaved in a more civilized manner by donating free milk to street children and beggar children. Public sympathy would have surely arisen in their favour which is now totally counterproductive.

It is obvious that the milk producers are not getting better price. But till date milk is priceless to most of the people in our country. They can distribute the milk free to the poor instead of throwing them away. Why they are not making cheese or paneer?

Excellent Somnathji....Agree 100% with you.... If they really want to Protest instead of throwing on Roads , they can stop supply to Government dairies and supply free to Orphanages , Old Age Homes and Poor People as a protest...That would bring on the Sympathy of people ...By Throwing on roads people will be against the Farmers not with them....

Agreed that the milk producers are not getting right price, but there are other ways to protest. I believe nature will punish them greatly for what they are doing, throwing away the nectar given by the creator? Do not do this kind of protests for media. It is through the ever generous cows and other animals that you get milk, respect and revere them for that.

reduce milk price

If there is over production of milk then why not milk pricing is dynamic in nature? Why not these farmers directly sell their milk to consumers in cities? People in cities are always ready to buy more amount of milk if cost is low that too natural milk and not the processed ones. Farmers should sell milk to consumers directly instead of selling and begging in front of govt for MSP.

What are you trying to prove be spilling the milk on roads?

If it was Japan then the union leaders would have stopped giving milk to dairies and instead protested by supplying milk free to old age homes, orphanages, schools, sports persons and poor people. They would not have thrown the milk on roads.

On the other hand Governments could have picked up the excess milk and distributed it free to old age homes, orphanages, schools, sports persons and poor people or even to countries such as Banglades, Nepal, Sri Lanka and many poor countries in Asia or Africa. If Governments can write off thousands of crores loans of farmers, surely they can pay the farmers and distribute it free to deserving.

Yes, spilling the milk on the streets is not affecting the govt. and traders, big companies etc. The farmers should rather give it for free to general stores, sweet shops shops, restaurants and make those traders and branded milk companies suffer losses.

milk pricing in india
by hukmaraj badala on Jul 17, 2018 05:50 PM

it is very strange that milk production in india increased to 20-30%, but prices has not slashed down.still chilern are not getting milk, neither spurious milk is delested from market even govt.dairies are not exclusive of these defects. more over Production of nakli Ghee is curtailed and freely produced . so either Production figures are incorrect or Crying by Producers is exagrated.
