Let us all become unaccountable
by R ponnabalam on Feb 17, 2018 07:20 AM

"fear of accountability in bankers"Does that say the Bankers are not in a position to give account of and for what they had done or they do not know how to give account of their actions and work. They still call themselves bankers -banking industry boasts of Accounting standards- and the Govt. pays their salary. Indian Govt you are never a fair Govt.In every one of your acts fairness is compromised.Pay for unaccountability and tax the common manR.Ponnambalam

Banks and politicians

The bad loan recovery machinery in India is hopeless. There is no fear of law in the minds of unscrupulous borrowers. The judiciary many times helps the defaulters by staying the recovery actions of the Bank. The wilful defaulters should be stripped of their entire assets and their names should be made public and given wide publicity in media. Defaulter should be incapacitated to vote enter into any contract in future. Then only the system can be revived.

This bankdom fails to appreciate and accept that the unrecovered loans have their roots in wrong evaluation for loans.LET THEM PUBLICISE THE EVAULATION, FOR THE MONEY IS PUBLIC MONEY.If I get some 45000 crores loan why i would not spare some 2 or 3 hundred crores out of that to pay for SERVICE to get that loan. The Govt. is at fault. The Govt. wants us to believe that it cannot run, say ,Steel plant and give that big money to some pvt. people .We were fed with news that in a neighboring country some Mr. s. was felt to be ---- that he was called 10%.But our news service could never tell even 1% for anybody in india .Our banking system worked amd works in such honest situation to make NPA.There is no HOPE OF CORRECTION with the banks still remaining in the same work ethics mind setR.Ponnambalam

Bankers and Politicians are burning tax payers money
by Sudheer Godgeri on Feb 16, 2018 06:47 PM  | Hide replies

If bankers want more power - and still want to "protected" for their NPA loans -- then why dont they become privatised? If ordinary citizen /middle class takes loan, defaults -- his assets are taken over by bank: Then why is same not done for rogue industrialists? This is the reason why middle class people have to continue to pay higher taxes every year! In simple words - banks are just saying they want free funds to make their NPA's look small! There is no real action plan to reduce NPAs/bad loans to industrialists/builders etc.

Firstly the Govt's thinking has to change. If IGA can be there in finalizing contracts with foreign countries why Govt. run companies cannot be there in India. The Govt. starts with contract to private industries-what else privatization is?- and in every step of contract, you call it service charge, leakage in expenses, big petty or sundry expenses are provisioned for laundering and launderying.Banks copy those practices. We cannot match S.Korea what to think of matching China with all these approach to work ,money and development R.Ponnambalam

bank Transaction not culture
by R ponnabalam on Feb 16, 2018 05:33 PM  | Hide replies

"the culture of lending has gone down."What is there about culture in lending. These all only show that banking was less business like and banks make big show of small things as they enjoy the benefit of working not their money but the public money, in comfort, sweating in air conditioned rooms and with the public available to bear all the loss made by banks through giving recap .Simple things;valuation failures or deliberate wrongs in valuation:escaping behind political interference;abominable abdication of duty in recovering loan and finding scapegoats, no responsibility for duty failures, these all going in the name of culture .All cosy things. Why Everytbody ,I too,has wanted to join banks? The prime art of driving a vehicle is to apply brakes to avoid accidents;the prime task of lending is making the recovery ever available with knowledgeable monitoring. If 100% collateral is needed why would someone would go bank?R.Ponnambalam

Its true- these bankers know how to use english to mask their real actions -- just throwing public money in the name of public service -- the real persons like small/micro businesses needing money to startup -- they are not given the loans: instead fat builders and industrialists are given loans w/o any security / assets! really wonderful!!

"in the name of public service."They call it public service. But in reality they are private service only.Loans will be given to known people because the rationale for loan approval is never in Public though the money is Public money. Then our country will talk of TRANSPARENCY in conferences and newspapers .it goes on---R.Ponnambalam
