INCENTIVES Should be given to Tax payers
by asish sekhsaria on Oct 16, 2017 04:55 PM

The Finance minister should extend several small incentives to the taxpayers like priority in railway tickets, air tickets, free medical insurance policies, etc

Further, it should do away with the subsidies to several crores of people who earn lot of money but potray themselves as poor - examples - road side stall owners, vegetable vendors, drivers etc. These people have lot of cash and they purchase property but never give tax. Further these people take BPL certificates from local councilors and get subsidies also.
Finace Minister needs to look into this urgently.

HOPEFULLY mandatory AADHAAR CARD linking will help to sort this matter

GovtMaadharChodhs not satisfied with 7th Pay Comn, want 20% more

GovtMaadharChodhs not satisfied with 7th Pay Comn, want 20% more

Nowadays a peon or junior asst in gov gets Rs 30,000, a gov lecturer gets Rs 1.5lak, a teacher 50K. Modi gov claims they are collecting a lot of taxes nowadays thru GST, income tax, etc. What all these collections for? To pay salaries to GovtMaadharChodhs who are good-for-nothing fellows?

I appreciate, Modi's initiatives on several fronts, but he is unable check the salaries of GovtMaadharChodhs.

Gov officials are laggards who do little work, they work hard only when there is scope for corruption, otherwise they eat paan and spit on the walls, play cards for 2 hrs when lunch time is only 1 hr, talk nonsense for hours, and so on.

Only defense people should be paid high salaries, and salaries of all the GovtMaadharChodhs should be reduced.

Govt is collecting taxes from the 97% hardworking people in the pvt sector, to pay exorbitantly high salaries to 3% GovtMaadharChodhs.

In pvt companies, corruption is only at the top, 97% employees have to work hard, but in govt companies 99% are corrupt and / or laggard fellows.

Govt should stop revising the salaries of the GovtMaadharChodhs in future and divert that excess money for improving primary education, family planning incentives, and spreading English language among poor. Gov criminals should be paid only market average salaries.

In villages poor farmer are committing suicides. They need training how to manage finances, family planning, English education, etc

What Benefit do Honest Tax payers get
by Raj Gopal on Oct 16, 2017 02:25 PM  | Hide replies

What Benefit do Honest Tax payers get? Whatever tax we salaried class pay are spent away in subsidies and loan wavers. We also pay all indirect taxes and invest in Govt. savings schemes. Increase the tax base and do away with subsidies and loan wavers then our country will benefit.

Raj Gopal, if you are really a salaried class, you should be very happy. Whether it is demo or GST, it is for collecting tax from the business people who never pay tax. Is they start paying tax too then you will start seeing the benefits too. Currently, all tax is borne only by salaried people, so they can get nothing in return, since it has to be spent in poor people.

Tax figures presented by FM
by NG Nileshwar on Oct 16, 2017 02:18 PM  | Hide replies

Does the income tax payer not feel demoralised after going through the article? After 70 years of independence, only 62 lacs of the 135 crores are subjected to tax deduction.
Income tax should be totally abolished and every citizen should be made responsible to pay a tax on whatever he spends.
This will involve every one in building the nation. GST has given an excellent platform. Every withdrawal of the bank or other systems like cards, etc should recover the tax. Surely this will be a negligible amount for the individual and save him from the tedious process of filing his returns.
But this is only after the scrapping of Income/wealth tax and the like.
The revenue earned by the Govt. would be substantially higher than the Income Tax and the expense in recovering this tax.
The staff presently employed in Income tax would be better utilized in the GST platform.

Indeed this is a good suggestion on the lines of Subramanian Swamy. The entire IT staff either needs to be sent home or redeployed. Also, this will avoid the wholly unjustified attacks by Jaitley on Indians , branding them as evaders , in the presence of an International audience .

Let Arun Jaitley reply what has he and Modi done with the taxes paid till date to his Govt.
Be Accountable first yourself Mr. Jaitley and then ask accountability from People.
You have drowned the economy of this country, robbed the common man with high rates of GST and still you consider the common man of this country as tax evader.
Your Govt. is a complete falure, people want to get rid of this Modi, Jaitley and Amit shah led BJP.
Never seen worse times than what your Govt. brought in.

Jaitley's complaint
by Sudarshan Nityananda on Oct 16, 2017 02:01 PM  | Hide replies

There are several flaws in Jaitley's complaints

1. Many persons earning 3-5 lakhs need not pay tax since they invest in tax deductible schemes and pay a lot for medical insurance. But their funds are going into post offices, FDs, PPF, Mutual Funds and all this BENEFITS the nation. So they are not short changing the nation. They also pay GST on all their bills which is a huge amount.

2. Many do travel overseas once in a way. It is possible that their expenses are met by their children who stay abroad , so that's not a big deal. There is no hidden money involved here. Most of those who travel abroad are office execs who anyway pay taxes. What is Jaitley complaining about ?

3. 12-15 million cars sold every year is pure falsehood. How could he deceive Harvard like this ? The sales is only 3 million cars per year. Any youngster getting Rs 4 lakhs per annum can easily pay the EMI for a Rs 4-5 lakhs car. There must be millions of such people in India who are fuelling the industrial boom in India. Does Jaitley want them to stop buying ? He can't say they are all tax evaders.
So, Mr Jaitley, even those who pay low or no tax are helping the nation by boosting tourism, car industry and investing in the Govt securities. You are not the only patriot left in Bharat.
