We pay 10% or 20% income tax already. I am not mentioning the higher brackets as only few lakhs fall under it. Now when i pay Income tax then isnt it a loot to add other taxes to it. They should abolish income tax in that case.

how come you woke up to this reality after 70 years of congress rule. When they were looting you , not a word. when a progressive step is being taken you whine. Sad

Mr. Atul, you did not know what amount of tax you had to pay the Central and State Govts. while buying and consuming things, till today (30th June 2017), under Central Excise duty, Special Excise duty, Customs duty, various other cesses, Sales Taxes of several states, Central Sales Tax, Octroi, etc. And on top of this, you were paying tax on tax, and again tax on that tax also, ad infinitum. You are now rid of all that because from 1st. July, you will pay only one commodity tax, i.e. GST. And these taxes were being paid by every Indian citizen, without being aware of the burden they were carrying. The burden post-GST will be certainly less. My only grouse is that the Govt.did not educate the public enough about GST. Overwhelming majority of the country do not pay Income tax. I am looking forward to a reduction in incidence of Income Tax as we move on.

I want to know if the sales price of any commodity will increase or decrease. If it is increased then what is the benefit for the common man?
If a person spends 5000/- on hotel he has to pay Rs.5000 900=5900 and he will pay the same through credit card. The total amount of credit card will be taxed @ 18%, which includes the hotel bill, Is that person will be taxed twice or not?
Re: Double Taxation
by rakesh mehrotra on Jun 30, 2017 06:42 PM

There is no tax on credit card payments, never it was, neither will it be now. 18% GST will be applicable on the interest charges or any charges levied upon you in case you donot make the full outstanding payment within the due date. Trust it clarifies.

hello what about other charges charged by credit card like krishi tax, cleaning tax what not. a pure loot in the name of GST.
People like , will never allow to implement the truth, as I mentioned earlier , it not talk of politics, Cong may initiated the GST but implementing now by BJP, reason is Cong never took the tough decisions. if not now in future never, as we have local parties will never support the nation growth like Mamata, TN Others states. only tough decisions can be taken by tough man only. there are many laws & others need to be changed, which Cong will not do because they need Muslim & others minorities support.

GST was first Initiated by Vajpayee Govt 2000 Vajpayee government started discussion on GST by setting up an expert panel headed by Asim Dasgupta, former West Bengal finance minister.
In the year 2003 The Kelkar Task Force suggested the need to have a comprehensive indirect tax reform through GST, during Vajpayee PM ship.
Later in the year 2006 UPA finance minister P Chidambaram proposes GST in his Union budget. The Empowered Committee (EC) of state finance ministers was assigned the responsibility to chalk out a road map for its implementation.
2008 Empowered Committee submits a report ‘A Model and Roadmap for GST in India’ Till 2015 the GST file was biting the dust.
The three generations ruled us directly, and the fourth generation through proxy. Such people follow wretched tactics, and keep on dragging the things may be for next four generations.
NaMo challenge of digitization process ardently and now we are in a better position to implement GST.

Now No check Post checking, No C forms, Since all sales area One tax. previously Vendor supply bangalore to Mumbai then ED - 12.5 % CST 14.5% or CST 2 % VAT 14.5% depends on goods Now Only one tax that 12.5% 14.5% =27 % or 28 Or 18% or 12 % or 5% depends On the good
Complicated tax rates only attract confusion and chaos . This is happening at present due to incompetent central govt. rule in India . They are unaware of the facts . As Manmohan worked on it , it must be something extra ordinary . So if we implement it now we will get all the credit . But Mahmohan never implemented due to lack of proper infrastructure in India ! In times to come Namo govt will be compared with Mohammad Bin Tuglaq who did all foolish things which ultimately did not benefit neither public nor govt.eg demonitization took more than 100 lives and RBI spend 26000 crore rupess but negligible blaxk money was restored ! Mr Arun Jaitley ji running economy of a country is not like fighting a case in supreme court . Nether any or everyone can become an economist like Amartya Sen or Manmohan Singh. Constant bullying it will ultimately bring recession in the country - mind you !
