If for 5 or 7 weeks we live in austerity, it is not going to be the end of the world for us. We have forgotten how the refugees from Pakistan lived after Independance. People of Bangladesh had their share of woes during their freedom struggle. Even Britain had long months of rationing post-war. Israel's story is a saga of endurance and austerity till recently. Mr Firdaus , do not dramatize and exagerate the current situation arising due to de-monitization. It is nothing compared to what the chinese endured during the Mao's reign. Nations become great only when people are willing to endure and sacrifice.
There are problems and here are issues in implementation but it is bold step by the Prime Minister . In fact we should go all out to support this idea whereas we are bickering. I know that Modiji is the most hated man in India but i dont care. He has had the guts risking his political future. For the past 70 years every party, economist, arm chair critics, politicians have been speaking on corruption but little have been done Keep up the good work Modiji and i hope your next target is political funding, Jewellery,Benami Property,NGO,Trust,Religious Institutions,Capitation Fees, Donations ets
Author wants to see Pre 1991 India. Anytime you can visit villages and see people waiting in queue in front of PDS and this is happening since Independence.

Dear Khangressi, I too had few 100 rupee notes at my home and till date I have not gone to the bank as I pay of all the debt thru debit/credit cards. You cannot be a 19th century guy living in 21st century. In fact we need to send these species to Museum who do not seem to be having an idea of the modern Banking methods. No wonder you are a great bhakt of Rahul and kejri
