Demonetisation a Himalayan blunder
by ganesh on Dec 04, 2016 10:57 AM  | Hide replies

In the final analysis this demonetisation will turn out to be a monumental blunder and lead to Modi's downfall. This is what happens when a leader acts like a dictator and does not listen to sane advice

None of the above.

Unless the Congress party can come clean with a well defined and viable set of alternative economic policies that will not lead to accumulation of more and more wealth in the hands of a few at the cost of the living standards of the great majority AND unless they can find a popular leader among its own ranks who is NOT FROM THE FAMILY, there wont be an alternative !!

And komaaaali Modi is sure going to continue in his current style - committing one blunder after another in the name of development and handing over larger and larger chunks of state resources meant for commoners to croxny capitalists !

And he will continue doing all this and continue hoping that his one way monologues to the people in his grating voice would be enough to deflect the attention of the people from his blunders !

And so, the election in 2019 is likely to throw up a hugely fractured parliament, with horse trading and intrigue back in full flow to grab power by any means !

black money.
by satya saka on Dec 04, 2016 10:47 AM

this is a small twist in the tale. An audit done of a monumental scale. to put to test the performance of banks and to stop the money from spilling over. Surely the black money has become white. The govt claim that there was so much black money may be wrong. but what about gold purcases, land purcahses. jan dhan accounts. if the amount is converted to white does not mean it is white. this is an exercise which many future govts will take up and a big lesson to black money holders

Modi Bin Thuglaq: exposed
by kuttichathan mydear on Dec 04, 2016 03:34 AM  | Hide replies

There was very little provisions made ot return the collected currency in many places. Higly likely currency was deposited/exchanged multiple times. We surely have Thuglaq II in the making. Sadly the crooks are all praise for Thuglaq and the affected people think they did a national service.

drive is good but....
by ELECTRO CHEMS on Dec 04, 2016 01:16 AM

It seems that demonetsation drive will go in reverse gear due to corrupt system. More currency pieces will deposit means government have to pay more than real values. Demonetsation drive is picture of miscalculation on the basis if 17 lakh crore received means sarkar will not get more than Rs.4 to 5 lakh crore in tax and Rs. 2-3 crore as 4 year deposit( Don’t calculated on every note deposited with bank). The expenditure and economical working lose of manpower will be many more. The Paytm, mobiwiki etc. and black market’s person exchanging old notes at 25-40% will earn a lot. The note problems may be resolved in one or two month but it will take seven to eight months to recover the lose, as in business a loss of 1 day is recovered in 5-7 days period of regular business, Society will also feel shortage of hard currency, Plastic money is not a solution of every need in India. In deep area there is not ATM ,No internet, such people has not even seen Rs 1000/-notes, Now we have to think about this real india & to help them though they are not affected by demonetsation drive because they have no money even not ‘pait bhar khana’, if there is any benefit of demonetsation drive ( which is not possible) then that should be passed to my Indian brothers who are not with new technology facilities… We should love India and Indiana, not political persons..Now imagine ..17 lakh crore against 14.78 lakh crore, and 25% rate of exchange rate for new no

On NDTV, on India Today,
by piri on Dec 04, 2016 12:47 AM  | Hide replies

on Times Now, on Asianet, on Mathrubhumi, on Manorama and surely on most of the other channels as well, BJP spokespersons labored for several days in debates after November 8th to put the point forcibly across that not more than 11 lakh crores or even as little as 10 lakh crore rupees will get deposited in Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 rupee notes by December 30th !!

To those on the debate who wished to express their reservations that the system does not have the wherewithal to filter out black money in the manner that the BJP men expected, most of these BJP spokespersons made rude and very noisy interruptions and kept blabbering away. Many of them kept continuing long after the debate moderators began making their attempts to give the other debaters their turns (and this happened even on Times Now, vow !)

However, in more recent debates on demonetization and its impact on the people, BJP men have not been making this point !

money
by sanjay sss on Dec 04, 2016 12:34 AM

Ok even if 100% of money in circulation returns back then what wud it mean? 1.there was no black money and people have deposited all cash with them as it was all white. 2.there was black money but now it has got mixed up with white money so it is difficult to tell how much is black and how much white. 3) will this returning money go into the coffers of the government or people will soon come to take it back as new notes. 4) the real gain for the government is the %age increase in tax collection between 8/11 and 31/12/16.Government is so far silent on this aspect.
