In 1962 Burma was the richest country in Asia. They closed off (to the outside world) and Myanmar became the poorest country in Asia. Closing off is never good.

Above fact and truth applies to India also, we closed our economy post Independence, including the East Indian Trading corporation, which resulted our Agriculture Industry once making surplus Forex reserves under British rule becomes Subsidy Industry. Today, our Farmers becomes beggars to get freebies from Govt.

Okay buddy..you came to make some money off India when a new man has come in..you did not get that opportunity..if you had invested to give the country something you might have got something in return..

But yes..the expected changes appear to be slow in coming but we have had misrule for quite a while and expect the changes to come in slow...your observation about the bureaucracy is spot one...that is one hard thing we are having to live with and would love to see quick change in that area which can give quicker results...recent monsoon is also a cause for worry..so its better things happen slowly rather than somebody jumping in to make quick money and scooting
