The economics of the organic farming is important too. It is obviously not something just fancy today, rather the need of the hour. Creating a farming community is always welcome as it helps share information and build up confidence in farmers. Healthy and happy individuals always make positive contributions. I am ashamed to think that we all seek short cuts while any numbers of such novel ventures are waiting to happen. Of course with necessary capital available before hand things are much easier, faster and more encouraging. Also recognizing people and projects are welcome but our tendency to hype things too far is uncalled for.

Advantages of Farming

As a farmer, I do not worry about inflation etc. I produce everything, keep sufficient grains, pulses for my self and sell remaining produce.
As a farmer, I do not bother about giving bunch of fruits and vegetables to my relatives when they visit my home. Because they are all given to me by nature without buying.
As a job holder, I cry to give bunch of fruits and vegetables to relatives when they visit my home, because I have to spend money to buy them.
It gives more stress when we purely depend on money.

Farming leads to true self sufficiency and can be healthy.
The more we mechanise(human invention), the more effort we need to put to maintain that mechanisation, as a result there is a pressure to maintain that mechanisation and invent more and more. As a result, nobody is happy(stress) and we are destroying ourselves.

It is a great effort by your team to develop such a model and more so to save the lives of our farmers who are the spinal cord of our country. Sincere request to the authorities to shed their AC rooms and replicate this model all over our country. This will definetly bring happiness in number of families. Congrats to rediff team for such a news.
