It seems a wrong list. Can anybody tell me, in which of the city mentioned in this list, a vehicle takes 1.30 hours to cross just a signal (like bangalore)...?
Come on. The vehicles are lined up with such a discipline. Come to Bangalore to see what is real traffic jam. The vehicles are lined up in such a way that it is difficult for needle to find landing space.
One day some time in future we have to stop automobiles not only to minimize congestion, greenhouse impact, hifi cost of fuel but also due to other reasons of ILL-HEALTH due to inhalation of pollutants. Its high time to STOP further growth or or decentralize major commercial complexes by shifting to small towns, introducing metro trains, metro buses, separate cycle tracks, invent mech based transport systems that need NO/ Minimum fuel...
If there is a traffic nightmare, it is right here in this land of Bharat. Sometimes when I travel on road, I begin to wonder, what will happen say after 10 years in Indian metropolis when even more vehicles due to growth are set to embrace the ever congested roads encapsuled with encroachments, pot holes, squalor and filth cohabiting side by side. Infrastructure projects whenever they are initiated move at a snail's pace due to various issues entangled with it and the roads have become so narrow that there is no room for infrastructure improvement too. Invasion from Villages to Cities are happening at feverish pace and this is not accompanied by civic planning or improvement from Government end. With the traffic sense of Indians set at zero much like their civic sense, it is really going to be a miracle for people to drive on such roads and reach their Office/home. Infact life would be a premium then whenever you travel on roads and manage to come alive. It is not that the situation is better now. Infact it is much worse with any number of fatal accidents cornering the column of newspapers. But just 10 years from now, it is frightening to even imagine what would be the situation ?
make a bundle of these research and insert into ............ Come Banglore, Bombay and Delhi where daily a truck or any vehicle is either become out of order or over turned on Ring road and make a normal delay of 2 to 3 hours.
In India we are forced to drive on a road where there is no lanes and very often upto six vehicles going abreast on a road designed for two vehicles! We have to learn some discipline.
