I don't know what to say ?But as a self proclaimed analyst,I must say that when we say planned,it should be plannedin reality in all respect,at least don't miss a thing in coming up two planned cities in India. Second thing in this lot the Las vegas,U.S.A., still tops in modern look then design part is surely won by Dubai & UAE.One more thing for youngsters / concerned comment writers that it is vision that transforms in to something great and the greatness will depend on the sinceer efforts of operators/planners.Why do.nt you Plan some thing you dream to be like-a city, townarea or Induustrial zone.Open a cunsultancy and sell your concept.
Navi Mumbai in this list is a joke. The place is crumbling, roads are non-existent, corruption is rampant and one family is in power for over 20 years now which explains why the city is crumbling faster then a jet plane crashes. Buildings and malls come up anywhere while the road outside remains the same. A basic question, how can you keep building malls, offices and residences without increasing the infrastructure that will ensure smooth transit of the additional population that will come in? Then there are traffic jams and all the 'expert's can come up with is to stop parking everywhere! Banks are made facing the road with no facility to park even one 2 wheeler. Traffic jams happen then cops start towing parked cars away. Indian's cannot plan big projects and thanks to our love of corruption we don't allow experts to deliver results either.

Only Lavasa and GIFT can be deserve to be in this list, I have seen Navi Mumbai, it's not up to the international standard - I don't understand who included Navi Mumbai in this list...!!
OK very good. Now can we get back to arguing whether Kejriwal should be using car with red or blue beacon. Then we can listen to jewels of AAP about how they plan to solve the entire country's problem by 700 litres of water per household. Such a pathetic country of fools we are, while the world moves ahead we keep on harking at non-issues, and creating heroes of people mouthing the non-issues.

Hi Manish, Non-issues? May be you are not a Delhi-ite? Then, what are issues to you Chandrayaan?

He is absolutely right, Free water to those who are rich enough to pay but what about poor people where no pipe line exists.Secondly , if rich people exceeds the limit of 20,000 liter then there will no Free water . It means nothing changed because a family definitely consuming more than 20,000 liter of water.
"To design the city, best of architects were involved. Some of the names include Charles Correa, Shirish Patel and Pravina Mehta..."
No disrespect intended but all the other developments mentioned were designed by eminent first-world architects and planners who are recognizable around the world...the same can't be said of the four listed above.

i live in Navi Mumbai and except 1/100 of the city, quality of development is pathetic. Builders have mushroomed with no knowledge about how to do good quality construction. Navi Mumbai featuring in this article itself is disgrace... however GIFT is something to proud about. I was passing by one of its complex last year but didnot recognize what it was, after reaching mumbai tried to find out only to know that it is one of the towers of upcoming Gift.

Though i m in Jaipur,I do Agree to You 100%.. Ur thoughts are Clear & inspiring too. I would like to stay Connected with you.
I have only one question? Where do they find the people to stay.. Most of the accommodation are going to be owned by people living outside Dubai then the city will normally look Haunted.
They need to work on generating the work and industrial sources for all these projects to succeed so that people may settle down there.

When you eat raw carrot, it's natural vegetable. When you use it in cooking, it's man made dish.
