If the airports (or any other place, for that matter) are not modernised, we crib about 'foreign' airports being 'sooo beautiful.'
Now that our airports are being improved to 'international' standards, we still find reasons to crib and criticise!!
...and to reply to the gentlemen who snigger about superb maintenance of Metros in Delhi and airports in Delhi and Mumbai - please visit these places and see for yourself how well they are maintained, instead of being an armchair critic without knowledge.
Has anybody ever though of the shattering spectacles of our slums beside the airport road, and the really stunning and breath taking stench of the filth outside the airport? Does India really need this luxury?
This means more space for Hajj yatri people. GOI spends 73000 INR for each yatri each year. !! For Allah sake please stop this bullshit ! Understand the help to Indian citizens, but most of the money is spent in Saudi, and Saudi gov are able to make money out of free tourists!! These passangers are responsible to un-clean airports around India.
In this expenditure, could we have had a few hospitals in villages, a few schools, or colleges where essential? If our travellers are disciplined, our security checks tight, then this pomp and glitter is a waste of good money. Whom are we trying to impress? But, then, it is also true that such projects do help political parties through contractors !
I notice that some people are just talking stupidly like “ see how after some time this airport will have paan stains and will not be maintained “ I think these people should visit airports like of Delhi , Mumbai ( domestic one ) , the Delhi metro staitions to notice that they have been made years ago and are superbly maintained till date. So guys just stop talking rubbish for the heck of it
