I have no doubt the Airport can be the best in a public-private partnership model. However - there is still a need to sort out under lying process and bureaucratic issues:
1. While going out, first a line at Airline, then a line at immigration. Usually only 3-5 immigration officers are present and it takes almost 20-30 mins to clear outbound Immigration.
2. Coming in to the country it takes more than 60 minutes to get out of airport!! a) again the lines at immigration (though that is much faster I must say in recent years). B) Then there is some 1 chap waiting to see your stamp on passport and let you leave.. again a huge line 20 mins! C) Then the wait for your bags and as usual people start moving around you to offer help. D) And just when you pick up your bags and load on trolly, you need to get back in line for Green Channel. Again unload your bags, put them on x-ray machine. The bloody guy is not even looking at monitor and half asleep! BUT you got to do it. E) Then again there is one guy out there at final exit to collect a small slip from immigration form.. WHY IN THE WORLD is this SO COMPLICATED..

P.s. - True incident - 3 weeks back at the Green Channel - in the rush of things I forgot hand bag at the x-ray machine at green channel. YES - you imagined right - it was nightmare to get back the bag - paid a good 2500 just for them to return my bags. ANY ONE FROM CUSTOMS reading this..

Things dont change at a say... lets wait and see first the mordenization of facility and how the infrastructure supports the security establishment .. then you might not face these many hassles... !!!
I Must to say congrates India . But after a year or two there is no maintenace of terminal and whic look more weired infrastructre . Rust , Spiting around terminal no budy is caring even Authority will take maintenance charge.
