Modi is the right choice
by Sudip Dutta on Jul 23, 2013 08:41 PM  | Hide replies

With all due respect to Mr Sen, sorry to say that he turned to be no different from other intellectuals, who has very little courage to speak out against the present government at the center after such massive misrule, I am sure no one wants to rub the party in power and mr sen is no different, BUT PEOPLE ARE WITH MODI, so we have no choice but to see that the country does not go into the hands of the corrupt

At present India has no other choice but Sri Modiji. India now has a core of educated people who understand what is happening to this great country and they all support him.

It is only a selfish minority (NOT the political minority but minority of people in the nation) who have vested interest and are so badly in need of congress to continue their design of looting India, are against him.

But, he has emerged out to be the most popular leader India has ever seen. Polls after polls are showing that. It is so bad that congress is planning to outlaw opinion polls during the election year.

As if that is going to change the material facts. It is corruption in everything they do.

How about minority rights in...
by Jaganniwas Iyer on Jul 23, 2013 08:21 PM  | Hide replies

I advise Amartya Sen to carry his sanctimonious lectures about "minority rights" to 'secular' regimes in the neighbourhood, particularly Pakistan and Bangladesh. If he can make even an iota of a difference, we'll take him a tad more seriously.

I understand that he will be advising Ufgaanistaan, Irak, Eegypt, Seeria, Tooneesia, Soodaan, Toorkey, Ulgaria, Eeraan, Saadi Aarabia about minorities.

He is waiting for ok from madamji who will give orders after these places have been ethnic cleansed completely.

btw why are these countries soooo violent?

there are bigger things to learn from Tamil Nadu Amartya Sen
by raman govindan on Jul 23, 2013 06:41 PM  | Hide replies

egg heads and oxbridge educated leaders like Pundit Nehru were failures! they write or tell to publish and get fame or gain in kind or monetary return!

Kamaraj introduced free schooling along with free Midday meals for children of Tamilnadu around 50 years back! that paid steady return to the state! it now boasts of almost 100 % primary school attendence and the literacy rate is more than 82%. that shows on the economy of the state! but Kamaraj was condemned by Indira gandhi and her coteris as a conservative, olguard and belongoing to syndicate, sullied and he died a broken hearted man!

he was a school drop out! what is required of leaders in the initial years of development of a nation, is courage, common sensense and a fire in the belly to develop the state and raise the level of the people!

Kamaraj was condemned by Indira gandhi and her coteris as a conservative, olguard and belongoing to syndicate, was sullied and he died a broken hearted man!

Pundit Nehru instead of emphasising on education .was hobnobbing with Sukarno, Castro, Tito and Nkrumah and sought international applsause for his non alighnement policy and harassed the USA that helped India with surplius wheat, milkpowder etc. we lost 4 dcades of growth, with Indira and Rajiv following him at the helm! the lost decades has effect on our society till date!

The Nehruvian socialist pattern of development failed. Nani Palkivala rightly called it the "lost decades". Only after Congress's model failed and we were on the verge of bankruptcy PVN went for reforms and opened up the economy with the help of MMS. But Congress wants to ignore PVN's contribution. The Southern states were always better ruled with more pragmatic leaders and all four states TN, Karnataka, AP and Kerala are much better off than the northern and other states.

Congress thinks very opposite of progressive parties and due to huge money in Swiss, they plan to over-rule the people, and they are successful in leading people, and not country... poor state
